Flood Relief, Part II - Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed to travel to Owego, Saturday, Oct. 1 to aid in flood cleanup at Beds 4 Kids, a non-profit organization that donates furniture to those in need.
Beds 4 Kids collects overstocked and gently used beds and furniture from retailers and universities for distribution to needy families. The recent Central/Southern Tier New York flooding brought 4 feet of water into the facility, destroying thousands of tons of furniture and mattresses and damaging parts of the building.
The group of volunteers from Alfred will be helping to clean the facility and rebuild damaged storage areas for future furniture donations.
Transportation and lunch will be provided. For more information on the trip, contact Jennings at [email protected] or call 607-871-2162.
