Newmark explains that translation "represents the meaning of a text in another language in the way the author intended the text".5 In other words, the translator can convey the meaning of the language that has been translated. The translation is not easy to do because the differences between two languages also include cultural differences, so the translator must be a master in his field. The main point in translation is that a translator cannot change the meaning of the message of the original. text. To know the message of the source language, the translator must read it, and then the translator will understand the text content.

When the translator can understand the meaning and structure of the text in the source language, he can capture the substantive message. The next step is to transfer the content, meaning and message of the source language into the target language. 7Bena Florita Krisetyawati, An Analysis of English Noun Phrase Translation Errors in Indonesian by Fifth Semester Students of the English Department of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Thesis, (Surakarta: Sebelas Maret University, 2010), p.20.

Quality Assessment of the Translation of "The 8th Habit: from Effectiveness to Greatness" by Stephen R. American Policy Development Research Institute 2016) Vol. It must be achieved directly in the target language so that the readers of the translated version do not realize that they are reading a translation product. This should be done so that the readers of the translated version do not realize that they are reading the translated product.

According to Roswani Siregar, accuracy means checking whether the meaning of the source text (ST) matches the target text (TT)11.

The qualitative writer also has a toolbox of data collection techniques, including in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis.25 The writer in this research uses documents to collect data. The author takes documents from the result of the use of colloquialism in the students' translation. In this research the author uses three techniques to collect the data which are observation, documentation and interview as follows.

In this research, the writer observes the test result of the sixth semester of IAIN Metro in the academic year 2019/2020. Qualitative researchers can use written documents or other artifacts to gain insight into the phenomenon under investigation.27 In this study, the author uses the document technique to collect the data. Therefore, in this study, the writer will use interviews to collect the data from the students.

In this research, the writer uses six steps in the research process, as follows:31. If the research problem covers a broad topic of concern, the writer should focus it so that the writer can study it. To get these answers, the writer engages in the step of gathering or gathering data.

During or immediately after data collection, the author must understand the information that individuals have provided in the study.

RESULT AND DISCUSSION A. Description of Research Setting

Profile of State Istitute for Islamic Studies of Metro a. The Historical Background of IAIN Metro

Description of Research Result

  • The Students’ Difficulties In Translating Colloquial Expression In Students Translation
  • The Factors That Cause The Students’ Difficulties Of Colloquial Expression In Translation
  • The Solution to Overcome Difficulties of colloquial expression in students translation

In context, beaut is used to describe an excellent, fine or perfect wave of the coast for surfing. In the third sentences The translation sounds natural, hardly feels like a translation and acceptable to the culture of the target text. From the above data which was taken in the student translation, some of the sentences which were translated are less natural.

In the second sentence there is no problem with the translation, but the deletion of the pronoun is it. The translation is accurate because the source language setting is not localized to the target language. In the last sentence it becomes unacceptable as the translator uses the word mama for contraction and keeps papa in the translation.

It means that aku (Mrs. Wiz) can see Herbert in the future. It also happens in the third sentence, the student missed the word white that had to be translated in the sentence. During the day, when the sky is clear and bright, the Herbet looks milky white. In overcoming the difficulties of colloquial language students in the student translation process, the students use a dictionary and are assisted by the teacher in the translation process;.

When using informal expressions for the translation process, the students can use expressions from the dictionary because the language is the same.

Discussion

The topic of conversational expressive translation material from print as a student teacher assignment should be included in the assignment so that students can relearn what the teacher explained. From the above data, the researcher found that the level of naturalness of student translation in conversational expression is less accurate. In the figure above, the percentage for the level of accuracy is 38 (24%) translated accurate translations, 54 (34%) translated sentences less accurate translations and 68 (42%) translated sentences inaccurate. Therefore, many students translated the sentences incorrectly.

After analyzing the results of the student's translation of informal expressions, the researcher concluded that students' level of naturalness errors were the correct meaning, using the correct expressions and words, but there are some error structures, logical with a minimum of unnatural words, grammar, phrases and idioms., unnatural form, with clumsy language, ungrammatical structure and inappropriate word. At the level of accuracy, most of the meanings of the words, terms, phrases, clauses and sentences have been accurately translated. However, there is still a distortion of the meaning or there is a meaning being omitted that disturbs the integrity of the message, and the meaning of the words, terms, phrases, clauses, sentences is inaccurately transferred to the target language or even deleted.

The researcher advises students to be more careful when translating a text, while choosing the right words to translate the word, adjusting the message in the sentence, paying attention to the grammar and structure of the language in the sentence.

Conclusion

From the above results, it can be seen that students should be more careful when translating the text to make the translations natural and accurate, choosing the right words to translate the word, adjusting the message in the sentence, taking into account the grammar and structure of the language in the sentence. Students should convey the meaning of the text, students should also not add their own opinions or ideas to the translation, rather students should convey the ideas that the writer wants to convey.
