This research was conducted to know the pronunciation problems faced by the students, the dominant type of mother tongue interference and the solutions to solve these mother tongue interference problems among the eleventh graders at MAN 1 Lampung Timur. Based on the result of the research, the researcher concluded that factors that contribute to mother tongue interference in students'. Also, the students got some difficulties in pronouncing English and the factors are: they confused with the sound or pronouncing it, mother tongue disturbed their pronunciation and they never studied about phonetic symbols.

Background of Study

In this case, the researcher would like to conduct a research on mother tongue disorders in student pronunciation among eleventh graders at MAN 1 Lampung Timur. Based on the results of a preliminary survey, the researcher investigates students' pronunciation difficulties in the form of insufficient mastery of English phonology. Therefore, the researcher produces a diploma thesis entitled Analysis of the interference of the mother tongue in the pronunciation of pupils among eleventh graders at MAN 1 Lampung Timur in the academic year 2019/2020.

Research Question

Objective and Benefit of Study

To identify the pronunciation problems faced by students among eleventh grade students in MAN 1 Lampung Timur related to mother tongue intervention. To describe the dominant type of mother tongue interference found in students' pronunciation among eleventh graders in MAN 1 Lampung Timur. To find solutions to solve pronunciation problems faced by students among eleventh grade students in MAN 1 Lampung Timur related to mother tongue intervention.

Prior Research

The differentiation sample that the previous research used the sample of Montenegrin students while this research used the sample of eleventh grade students of MAN 1 Lampung Timur. The differentiation sample that the previous research used the sample of Arab students, while this research study used the sample of eleventh grade students of MAN 1 Lampung Timur. Moreover, both researches analyze the same topic that the interference of mother tongue in pronunciation.

Next, students need a hands-on grasp of the sounds, rhythms and cadences of English and how they fit together in the connected language. Description of the Data

MAKK was born on the premise that MAN 1 Metro students can study more intensively and compete with other schools, and MAN 1 Metro alumni can gain more from their favorite universities, both at home and abroad. Based on this, MAN 1 Metro Lampung Timur has developed a pattern of boarding school education until now. Description of Data Findings

Teachers must teach students that slow speech is much better than mispronounced speech and that teachers must be aware of students' pronunciation needs and problems.
