This is research about lexical and contextual meaning on Red Hot Chili Peppers songs. The problem in this research is to discover the lexical meaning and the type of contextual meaning in the songs. In this research, the researcher chose Red Hot Chili Peppers songs. The descriptive qualitative method and observation were applied to collect the data in this research. The result of lexical meaning defined according to dictionary meaning. The researcher found six types of contextual meaning on Red Hot Chili Peppers songs. They were linguist context, context of situation, context of time, context of place, context of field, and context of culture. There are 24% linguist context, 36% context of situation, 9% context of time, 12% context of place, 10% context of field, 9%
and context of culture.

Ini adalah penelitian tentang makna leksikal dan kontekstual pada lagu Red Hot Chili Peppers. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah menemukan makna leksikal dan jenis makna kontekstual dalam lagu. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis memilih enam lagu dari Red Hot Chili Peppers. Metode kualitatif deskriptif dan observasi digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini.
Hasil dari makna leksikal merujuk kepada makna kamus. Peneliti menemukan enam jenis makna kontekstual dalam lagu Red Hot Chili Peppers. Jenisnya adalah konteks linguis, konteks situasi, konteks waktu, kontexts tempat, konteks bidang, dan konteks budaya. Terdapat 24% konteks linguis. 36% konteks situasi, 9% konteks waktu, 12% konteks tempat, 10% konteks bidang, 9%
konteks budaya.
