Judul Skripsi : ANALYSIS OF FACTORS AFFECTING ONLINE LEARNING USE BY STUDENTS OF ENGLISH DEPARTMENT OF MUHAMMADIYAH UNIVERSITY OF MAKASSAR. Thesis on the Analysis of Factors Affecting the Use of Online Learning (Qualitative Research on Sixth Semester Students of the English Department of Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. The aim of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of students in using the online learning method in the learning process of teaching English.

The result of the questionnaire, students agreed that Online Learning helped them in the learning process under certain conditions.

This research is based on the analysis of factors influencing the use of online learning factors in English teaching. In relation to the above statement, the researcher formulated a research question: “What factors influence the use of online learning among students of the Department of English at Muhammadiyah University, Makassar?”. The aim of the research was to analyze the factors influencing the use of online learning among students of the Department of English at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar.

The result of this research for the students is to help students to make their online learning effective.

Anshari, Alas, Nor'Azmah, Sabtu and Hamid (2016) completed a research under the title "Online learning: trends, issues and challenges in the age of big data". The study highlights the latest issues, challenges and trends in Internet activities, focusing on online learning and its potential in the era of big data. He said that today's youth have mostly been brought up in the culture of the internet and see it as integral to socializing, studying and working.

Online learning was an effective learning method as it was easily accessible so that lecturers and students could easily carry out teaching and learning processes at any time outside the classroom. Although various studies recommend that online education and blended learning (a "mix" of online and traditional approaches) could be as effective as traditional classroom models, some studies have focused on student satisfaction with online instruction, particularly when transitioning to online learning. from traditional approaches. The study demonstrated the value of online learning and led to the identification of possible best practices.

Some of the students felt uncomfortable with the student-centered nature of the course and were delayed by improvement demands for computer-based instruction, reducing student engagement in the course and harming student success (Lowell, 2001). The use of e-learning in practice also has a number of disadvantages compared to mobile learning: 1) the interaction between students and teachers was held using e-mail with the loss of time on routine postal examinations; 2) communication between participants in the education 11 . process takes place only through access points to the Internet;. Sudjana (2001) stated in his book under the title “Teaching Media” that learning media are educational facilities that can be used as tools in the learning process to improve efficiency and effectiveness in achieving test objectives.

In a broader understanding of learning media were tools, methods and techniques used within the context of more effective communication and interaction between teachers and students in the learning process in the classroom. From data reduction then followed by preparation of data presentation in the form of a systematic history with the researchers' edits so that the meaning was more clearly understood.

Thus, the researcher concluded that most of the students of the sixth semester English students of Muhammadiyah University did not agree that online learning makes them easy in the learning process. For example, the researcher concluded that most of the students of the Sixth Semester English Students of Muhammadiyah University did not agree that the teacher teaches the material well in the online learning process. Thus, the researcher concluded that most of the students of the Sixth Semester English Students of Muhammadiyah University disagreed that they felt they had mastered the learning material better during the online learning process.

Thus, the researcher concluded that most of the students of the Sixth Semester English Students of Muhammadiyah University agree that online learning did not promote student agreement. Thus, the researcher concluded that most of the sixth semester English students of Muhammadiyah University disagreed that they felt happy during the online learning process. Thus, the researcher concluded that most of the sixth semester English students of Muhammadiyah University agreed that they spent more time on the online learning process.

Thus, the researcher concluded that most of the Sixth Semester English Students of Muhammadiyah University did not agree that they felt more efficient of online learning. The use of online learning by students in the English Department of Muhammadiyah University of Makassar from student's. Thus, the researcher concluded that most of the sixth semester English students from Muhammadiyah University disagreed that students perform tasks more easily with online learning methods. Thus, the researcher concluded that most of the sixth semester English students from Muhammadiyah University disagreed that they feel more active 29.

Thus, the researcher concluded that most students of Sixth Semester English Students of Muhammadiyah University agree that online learning does not increase students' learning interest. Therefore, the researcher concluded that most of the sixth semester English students of Muhammadiyah University agree that online learning increases student activity in participation during the teaching and learning process. So the researcher concluded that most students of sixth semester were English students of Muhammadiyah University 35.

Thus, the researcher concluded that most of the sixth semester English students of Muhammadiyah University agree that the lecturers use online learning applications that are easily accessible. Thus, the researcher concluded that most of the sixth semester English students of Muhammadiyah University agree that the students have a support tool for online learning methods. Thus, the researcher found that most of the sixth semester English students of Muhammadiyah University preferred to use google meet and zoom in the online learning process.

The researcher therefore concluded that most students of Sixth Semester English Students of Muhammadiyah University were 47. The use of online learning by English department students at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar from environmental dimension. So the researcher concluded that most of the sixth semester English students of Muhammadiyah University agree that they have the support of my family / neighbors during the online learning process.

Thus, the researcher concluded that most of the sixth semester English students of Muhammadiyah University disagreed that they did not get any distractions from the environment while following the online learning process.

Discussions

Based on Google Form, students agree that online learning has helped them in the learning process under certain circumstances. The Student Understanding dimension in item 1 shows that 71.4% of students disagree that online learning makes it easy for them in the learning process. In other words, the “Student Activity” dimension in item 1 shows that 50% of students disagree that they felt happy during the online learning process.

Then from the media dimension in point 1 it is shown that 64.3% of students agree that lecturers use online learning applications that are easy to access. Further from the network dimension in point 1 it is shown that 50% of students agree that they are in an area that has adequate signals for online learning methods. While from the effective and efficient dimension in point 1, it is shown that 57.1% of students disagree that they focused on learning during the online learning process.

And lastly, from the environmental dimension in point 1, it is stated that 100% of students agree that they have the support of my family / neighbors during the online learning process. Based on this, the researcher concluded that most students believe that the network is a big factor that affects their studies in the online learning process. Based on the above data, the researcher found that many factors influence the learning process of students in online learning.

It is suggested that the lecturer should pay more attention to teaching and learning students in online learning methods. So, the lecturer must understand what kind of tools are suitable for online learning study before proceeding with the teaching and learning process.

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

Conclusion

Based on the collected and analyzed data, the factors affecting the use of online learning by students of the English department at Muhammadiyah University of Makassar were classified into 2 factors, which were internal factor and external factor. The internal factor consisted of the dimension of student understanding, the dimension of student activity, and performance and effectiveness.

Suggestion

This research supports research by Pravita (2020) who stated that blended learning (including online learning) has weakness that it was difficult to apply if the infrastructure, internet access and network are not supported. For the next researcher, use this research as references about online learning to make the new research about it, but in the term of other discussion.
