An analysis of students' problem in learning to speak in the new normal era of the third semester of English department students at IAIN Bengkulu in the academic year 2021/2022. Valisneria Utami, M.Ed This research focused on students' problems in learning to speak in the new normal era. It can be concluded that students' problems and the causes of these problems in learning to speak in the new normal era in the third semester of the academic year 2021/2022.

In the third semester of the English study program there are two subjects focusing on speaking skills. First and foremost, Academic Speaking, this course aims to develop students' competence in communicating ideas orally in various academic activities or formal scientific oral discourses. Learning materials include formal speeches (informative and persuasive) and presentations in seminars, conferences, workshops or similar on topics related to learning English, linguistics or literature.
This course also equips students to be able to play different roles in formal scientific academic oral forums, namely moderators, discussants, note takers and participants. Second, Pronunciation Practice, this course focuses on providing students with measures to understand the rules of English pronunciation, pronounce English skills in accordance with current rules, and have a positive attitude towards self-development in English.
Previous of Studies
The similarity of the current study with the previous study is that both want to know the students' difficulties in learning to speak. According to the findings, 56 percent of students occasionally and 20% of students often experience inhibition, 54 percent of students occasionally and 11% of students often experience nothing to say, 51 percent of students occasionally and 36 percent of students often experience reduced or unstable. inclusion, and 35 percent of students occasionally and 42 percent of students often experience acquisition of the mother tongue. It was found that one of the most common difficulties in speaking was the use of the mother tongue, especially when students felt that speaking in the mother tongue was easier.
The similarity of the current study with the previous study is that both of them need to understand what problems that type of student with poor experience in speaking skills has. The result of the research was that the researcher was that the overall grade of students' speaking ability is 64.8, according to the findings of the study. Drilling, brainstorming, role-playing and student motivation are some of the tactics used by teachers to overcome challenges.
The similarity of the present study with the previous study is both discussed regarding students' challenges in speaking. The result of the research was qualitative research involving 14 university students and they were randomly selected from a university.

I feel that it is difficult to distinguish words that have the same pronunciation in learning English speakers in the new normal era. I can't make and arrange sentences using good and correct grammar to learn English speakers in the new normal era. The table above showed that students have a lack of vocabulary in learning to speak English in the new normal era.
