The six Alfred University fraternities will hold their an nual IFC Weekend this Friday and Saturday.
Highlight of the weekend will be the appearance of The Buckinghams which "follows the precedent set in previous years for the finest available, up to date, top level enter- tainment for this important weekend, contributing greatly to what we sincerely believ will be the best IFC weekend to date," according to Don Peyser, IFC treasurer and chairman of the weekend.
The Buckinghams, one o the all-time greats of the rock wbrld, will appear at 2 p.m.
Saturday afternoon in Alumni Hall.
Appearing with The Buck- inghams as a special added at- traction will be one of the hot- test new groups on the blues scene, Scott Fagen. Fagen will perform with a seven-piece ensemble.
Brian's Idols, a fine rock group from Ithaca and New York City will play at the IFC
Ball, Friday evening at Ade Hall.
Highlighting the ball will be the crowning of the IFC Queen.
She will be selected by the 'IFC from candidates nominat-
ed by the six member fraterni- ties.
The jeweled crown will be placed tan the queen by A1 Ce- lio, president of IFC.
The fraternities will have parties both Friday and Sat- urday evenings. This will be the first big weekend for the newly tapped pledges.
The Friday night fraternity festivities will take the form of cocktail parties prior to the IFC Ball. On Saturday the in dividual houses will have after noon buffets after the conce- followed by parties Safcurdav night.
The Inter-Fraternity Coun- cil Weekend is sponsored by the IFC and its member fra- ternities. It is one of the best of the "big weekends." Tick ets for the ball land concert are available to fraternity men only.

Highlighting the IFC Ball on Friday evening will be the crowning of the 1968 IFC queen. The candidates, each a representative of one of the six Alfred University frater- nities, are:
Helen Archer, representing / Lambda Chi Alpha. Helen is a sophomore psychology ma- jor from Morristown, New Jer- sey. Helen is five feet, six inch- es tall with brown eyes and.
brown hair. Among her hob- bies are skiing and painting.
Helen is a sister of Theta The- ta Chi Sorority.
Linda Lawrence, the repre- sentative of Delta Sigma Phi, is a freshman majoring in nursing. Linlda's home is Al- fred. She is five feet, six inch- es toll, has brown hair and ha- zel eyes. Linda counts as her enjoyments skiing, swimming, and the guitar.
Meryl Lefkowltz, nominated by Tau Delta Phi, is a junior.
Her major is mathematics and she hails from Pearl River, New York. Meryl, a sister of Theta Theta Chi Sorority, is

Judy Susskind, nominated by Klan Alpine, is a resident of Roslyn. Long Island. Judy lists ceramic art ais her major and is a sophomore. Judy has blue eyes and light brown hair. She is five feet, seven inches tal' and is interested in sailing and painting.
Toby Weston is the repre- sentative of Phi Epsilon Pi She is a freshman, majoring in design. Her home town is Roekville Centre, Long Island.
Tbby is five feet, five inches tall, has brown hiair and green eyes. Toby's hobby is art.
The Buckinghams, one of the leading participants in our modern rock renaissance, will highlight Inter - Fraternity Council Weekend with a Sat- urday afternoon concert in Alumni Hall from 2 to 5 p.m.
The group was established in 1966, and their first record,
"Kind of a Drag", was a smash.
They were then signed with Columbia Records, and follow- ed with "Don't You Care."
Their first LP, "Time and Charges", was an enjoylaible taste of future musical direc- tion. It features broad, excit- ing orchestration; m o d e r n symphonic chord progressions;
electronic segments colored with blues overtones . . . ano- ther musicaj extension of The Buckinghams, another pro- gression in t'heir continuing musical evolution.
"Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" fol- lowed their debut LP . . . ano- ther hit single, another sound this time in the very best Chi- cago tradition.
The Buckinghams all hail from Chicago, and they knew what they were singing about, because they've lived it. In

They achieved still more na- tional recognition with a fourth consecutive hit, "Hey Biaby" . . . an example of what rock and roll can be when the basic ingredients include large

As for tangible proof that this method has paid ofif . . . every single release has reach- ed the National Top Five, and two were number one.
This year's IFC Concert promises to be an exciting mu- sical experience.
