I am enclosing a copy of the Minutes of the July, 1968, Meeting of the National FFA Officers and Board of Directors, as well as a copy of the Minutes of the July, 1968, Meeting of the National FFA Foundation Board of Trustees.

It is suggested that you and all members of your staff review these ~inutes

and discuss convention items with your delegates to the 40th Anniversary National FFA Convention. The convention dates, as you know, are Oct. 15-18.

If you have any appropriate comments or suggestions which you feel we should have in advance of the convention date, will you please send them to Mr. Gray or me.

AMENDMENTS TO THE NATIONAL FFA CONSTITUTION, BYLAWS, AND CEREMONIES -- The National FFA Officers and Board of Directors served as an Ad Hoc Committee in studying the National FFA Constitution, Bylaws, and Ceremonies, as well as recommendations of similar Study Committees in the last two years, and have proposed a number of revisions for consideration by the 1968 delegate body.

These recommendations have been summarized by Mr. Coleman Harris, National FFA Program Specialist, and are enclosed for your review and use with the State delegates to the convention. It is very important that all delegates be well informed of these proposed changes. A few of the suggestions may be

controversial and need additional study before being implemented. However, other suggestions are already long overdue.

The proposed changes will be reviewed and questions clarified with the delegates, and State Advisors and Executive Secretaries, at a 9:30 a.m.

meeting prior to the Officer-Delegate Luncheon on Tuesday, October 15.
