Rath und Westing. Turner Fr. Vonnegut
führte den Vorsitz.
Das Protokoll der letzten Sitzung wurde
angenommen wie verlesen.
Auf Antrag Carl Liebers wurde der Beschluβ
der letzten Sitzung betreffs Verleihung
des Titels : B. S. G. – H. C.-, an Geo Brosins und Metzner
in Wiedererwägung gezogen und angenommen.
Dr. Pantzer stellte hierauf den Antrag,
an die Turnlehrer Georg Brosins und Heinrich
Metzner, in Anbetracht ihrer ausnahmesweisen groβen
Verdienste für das deutsche Turnen in Amerika
und den Nordamerikanischen Turnerbund den
Titel : “M S. G. – H C” zu verleihen
und die Abstimmung darüber dem Verwaltungsrat
zu unterbreiten. Der Antrag wurde einstimmig
angenommen.
Dr. Pantzer drükte dem Verwaltungsrat seinen
Dank aus für das in ihn gesetzte Vertrauen,
indem er als Dekan der Abteilung für
Anatomy, Physiology and Hygiene erwählt
wurde, äuβerte jedoch die Befürchtung, daβ
er ihm wegen Mangel an Zeit nicht möglich
sein würde, dem Seminar die nötige Zeit
zu widmete, und bat, wenn möglich,
einen anderen an seine Stelle zu wählen.
Die Abstimmung über die Verleihung des
Titels : B. S. G – H. C- an die Turnlehrer
Georg Brosins, Heinrich Metzner, Wm Fleck,
Heinrich Suder und Georg Wittich ergab
das Resultat, daβ alle Mitglieder des
Verwaltungsrats mit “Ja” stimmten.
Seminardirektor Rath berichtete über den
Sommerkursus und beantragte, daβ für
die Turnlehrer Foertsch $65 00, Nicolai $45 00
Walter Wittich $75 00, und Frl. Guenther $75 00
als Vergütung für ihre Tätigkeit im Sommerkursus
ausgesetzt werden. Für die beiden letzt
Genannten ist das Reisegeld mit eingeschlossen.
Der Antrag wurde angenommen.
Seminardirektor Rath berichtete, daβ die Herren
Prof. Kelly von Earlham College in Richmond,
und Prof. T. Tomlin aus Evansville in ihrer
Eigenschaft als Mitglieder des State Board of
Education of Indiana, dem Seminar einen Besuch abstatteten,
und ein sehr günstiges Urteil über das
Seminar abgaben.
Rath berichtete ferner, daβ der Verwaltungsrat
zu dem Bankett der Alumni Assn am
Freitag Abend, den 21. Juni, eingeladen ist.
Auf Antrag Lieber’s wurde beschlossen, für
die Bibliothek das Werk Dr. Faust’s :
The German Element in the United States”
anzuschaffen. Angenommen.

Meeting on June 15, 1912.
Present: Frankling and Geo. Vonnegut, Stempfel, Dr. Pantzer, Scherer, C Lieber, Rath and Westing.
Turner Fr. Vonnegut chaired the meeting.
Last meeting’s minutes were approved as read.
Carl Lieber moved to reconsider and approve the decision made at the last meeting about awarding the degree “B. S. G. – H. C.” to Geo. Brosins und Metzner. Motion granted. Upon this, Dr. Pantzer suggested to award the degree “M. S. G. – H. C.” to gymnastic teachers Georg Brosing and Heinrich Metzner on the basis of their exceptional contributions to the German gymnastics in America and the North American Turnerbund (Gymnastic Union) and to submit the decision to the Board of Trustees for their vote. His suggestion was accepted unanimously.
Dr. Pantzer expressed his thanks to the Board of Trustees for entrusting the position Dean of the Department for Anatomy, Physiology and Hygiene. However, he said, he was afraid, due to lack of availability he will unable to devote the Seminary the required time and attention and asked, if possible, to elect someone else in his place.
The vote to grant the degree “B. S. G. – H. C.” to gymnastic teachers Georg Brosins, Heinrich Metzner, Wm Fleck, Heinrich Suder and Georg Wittich ended with the result that all members of the Board of Trustees voted ‘yes’.
Dean Rath reported about the summer course and moved that the following funds be allotted as compensation for their work in the course to the teachers as follows: gymnastic teacher Foertsch $65 00, Nicolai $45 00, Walter Wittich $75 00 and Ms. Guenther $75 00. For the last two, their travel costs are included as well. Motion granted.
Dean Rath reported that the gentlemen Prof. Kelly from Earlham College in Richmond,
and Prof. T. Tomlin from Evansville visited the Seminary in their capacity as members of the State Board of Education of Indiana and gave a very favorable evaluation.
In addition, Rath reported that the Board of Trustees was invited to the reception of the Alumni Assn. on Friday evening, June 21.
Lieber moved to acquire Dr. Faust’s work “The German Element in the United States” for the library. Motion granted.
