Anwesend waren F. Vonnegut, Stempfel, Lieber, Pantzer,
Scherer, Rath und G. Vonnegut.
Präsident Vonnegut führte den Vorsitz. Das Protokoll der
letzten Sitzung wurde angenommen wie verlesen.
Direktor Rath berichtete, daβ er wegen der Ende März ein-
getretenen Ueberschwemmung die Jahresversammlung der
American Physical Education Association in Newark nicht
besuchen konnte. Er erhielt Urlaub für den 25. und 26.
April, um an der Jahresversammlung der Middle West
Physical Education und Hygiene Association teilzunehmen.
Die Abstimmung über die vorgeschlagenen Kandidaten für
Master of Science in Gymnastics, Bachelor of Science in
Gymnastics, und für Verleihung desTurnlehrerdiploms ergab
einstimmige Annahme. Da Turnlehrer Geo Wittich, obwohl er
für die Vorschläge stimmte, die Ansicht äuβerte, daβ einige
Kandidaten für Turnlehrerdiplom nicht drei Sommerkurse
des Turnlehrerseminars besucht hätten, wurde beschlossen, ihn
darauf aufmerksam zu machen, daβ dies nach dem Beschluβ vom 30. November 1912 nicht notwendig sei.
Weitere Gesuche um Verleihung des Turnlehrerdiploms
lagen vor von Friedrich Karl Koch und Robert J. Manzeck.
Beschlossen, die Abstimmung darüber vornehmen zu lassen.
Beschlossen, Dr. Dudley A. Sargent zu ersuchen, bei
der Schluβfeier des Seminars eine Rede zu halten.
Die Arrangements für die Schluβfeier wurden der
Administrativebehörde übertragen.
Scherer berichtete, daβ Schulsuperintendent Collicott bereit
sei, Herrn Rathmann vor der Lehrerschaft sprechen
zu lassen. Beschlossen, Scherer mit den weiteren Unter-
handlungen in dieser Angelegenheit zu beauf-
tragen.
Direktor Rath berichtete, daβ der Seminarist Hansen die
Nachprüfung in Physiologie nicht bestanden habe. Be-
schlossen, die Angelegenheit der Administrativbehörde
zur Erledigung zu überlassen.
Auf den Bericht hin, daβ der Turnsaal wiederholt
morgens nicht in Ordnung gewesen sei, erbot
sich Geo. Vonnegut, diese Sache zu untersuchen.
Herr Albrecht Kigg schenkte der Seminarbibliothek
zwei Bücher: Der Unsinn im Sport und der Sinn in
der Gymnastik, und F. L. Jahn Beschlossen, Herrn
Kigg schriftlich den Dank des Verwaltungsrats abzustatten.
Schatzmeister Lieber berichtete, vom Turnbezirk Indiana
$100 als Geschenk für das Seminar erhalten zu
haben. Beschlossen, dem Vorort des Turnbezirks Indiana
ein Dankschreiben zu senden.

Meeting on April 19, 1913.

President Vonnegut chaired the meeting.
Last meeting’s minutes were approved as read.
Dean Rath reported that he was unable to attend the annual meeting of the American Physical Education Association in Newark due to the floods at the end of March. He was granted
vacation days on April 25 and 26 to attend the annual meeting of the Mid West
Physical Education and Hygiene Association.
The vote for the candidates for the titles Master of Science in Gymnastics and Bachelor of Science in Gymnastics, and for the teacher of gymnastics/physical training diplomas resulted in unanimous agreement.
Despite his voting for the nominated candidates, gymnastic teacher Geo Wittich voiced the opinion that some of the candidates for the teacher of gymnastics/physical training diplomas did not attend three summer courses at the Gymnastic Teachers Seminary (Normal College). It
was decided to point out to him that, in accordance with the decision from November 30, 1912, this is not required.
Additional application for the award of the teacher of gymnastics diplomas by Friedrich Karl Koch und Robert J. Manzeck had been submitted. It was decided to proceed with the vote for those candidates.
It was decided to ask Dr. Dudley A. Sargent to hold a speech at the College’s commencement ceremony. The arrangements for this festivity were delegated to the Administrative Office.
Scherer reported that school superintendent Collicott has agreed to have Mr. Rathmann speak
in front of the faculty. It was decided to let Scherer take care of any further negotiations in this matter.
Dean Rath reported that college student Hansen did not pass the make-up test in Physiology. It was decided to leave this issue for the Administrative Office to resolve.
In response of the report about the gym not being in good condition repeatedly in the mornings, Geo. Vonnegut offered to examine the situation.
Mr. Albrecht Kigg donated two books to the College library: “The Nonsence in Sports and the
Sense in Gymnastics” and “F. L. Jahn”. It was decided to express the Board of Trustees’ thanks to Mr. Kigg in written form.
Treasurer Lieber reported that he received a $100 donation for the College from the Indiana Turner District. It was decided to send a thank you note to the executive committee of the Gymnastic District of Indiana.
