Book title: Indra Nooyi- A Biography Author: Annapoorna
Publisher: Rajpal and Sons
Date published: January 1st, 2013 Type of book: Biography
Number of pages: 176 Book code: 978817028972
What did you like best about this book?
What I like most about this book is that the language style used is effortless for readers to understand, and the storyline is well-packaged, starting from Indra Nooyi's family background, how she was educated, and her journey during school until she reached her goal career and have a family alone.
What did you like least?
I disliked most about this book's quotes from world-famous people, which separated one chapter from the next. I wouldn't say I like it because I don't think it has anything to do with Indra Nooyi's biography.
What you can learn from the story? Any motivation?
The lesson I can learn from this story is how Indra's family educates its members. Especially Indra's mother, Samantha. She educates her children with high discipline. Besides that, she believes that prayer produces something extraordinary from what the world dreams of. Her parents and grandfather also taught her that "when you do a job, you have to do it better than anyone else. It's simple. You can't let anyone down." This motivates me not to forget the enormity of the power of prayer in addition to our efforts.
What is the experience you have that relates to the story?
My personal experience regarding this story is that part of my family still considers good grades to measure one's success. If you don't get good grades, how can you get a good job? This is similar to what happened to the family of Indra, The Tamil Brahmin, who were known for their intelligence. Indra even had to
study harder when she got a score of 95 because, according to her mother, it was still not enough.
What is the best quotes from the book?
There is one quote that became my favorite quote from her. “At the end of the day, don’t forget that you’re a person, don’t forget you’re a mother, don’t forget you’re a wife, don’t forget you’re a daughter.” When your job is done,
“what you’re left is family, friends, and faith.” This quote reminds me not to forget our role as a woman, especially when we are married and have children, lest the work I do makes me forget about my children and husband.
What kind of people need to read this book? Why?
In my opinion, this book is suitable for women who are still afraid to be career women. Because besides this book telling the story of Indra, who became a successful businesswoman, this book also inserts a moral value on how Indra can divide her time between her family and career.

Book title: Mother Teresa Author: Meg Greene
Publisher: Greenwood Press Date published: August 30th, 2004 Type of book: Biography
Number of pages: 174 Book code: 0313327718
What did you like best about this book?
What I like most about this book because the storyline is very coherent and detailed. It helps readers to get in-depth information about Mother Teresa's journey.
What did you like least?
The thing that I disliked the most about this book was the layout the book, which in my opinion, looked too tight, so it was pretty dizzy to read it. Maybe because this book contains very detailed content, with a page count of fewer than 200 pages, the writing in this book is tight, and in my opinion, it is not very friendly to use by readers who use electronic textbooks.
What you can learn from the story? Any motivation?
The lesson I can take from this book is the way Gonxha's parents, or as we know Mother Teresa, raised their children. Teresa's father taught her and her sisters to never forget whose children they were and what background they came from. The mother, Drana, makes sure her children practice their religion and incorporate it into their daily lives. The motivation that I can take from this book is whoever we are, whatever our background, doesn't make that a difference between ourselves and others because we are all equal in the eyes of God, as long as we are pious servants.
What is the experience you have that relates to the story?
My personal experience relates to this story is that, as was the case with Drana, Mother Teresa's mom. She warned her that in choosing to become a nun,
she must surrender her life to God without hesitation, fear, delay, and regrets. It's the same with my mother, who reminded me that when I am involved in a bond (for example, an organization or a job), I must run it with full faith and
wholeheartedly so that if something does not go as I expected, there will be no regrets in it.
What is the best quotes from the book?
The best quote from this book is, “When you do good, she told the children, do it quietly, without calling attention to your own virtue.” We are taught that when we do good, we do it quietly without having to get it out to others to look noble for the acts we have done.
What kind of people need to read this book? Why?
I think this book is suitable for teenagers who are developing themselves because this book contains lessons about how Mother Teresa deals with other people's opinions about her, as well as moral values such as humility, which in this era are often forgotten by young people, most of them are competing for validation.
