The purpose of this research is to show the improvement of using brainstorming technique on students' twelfth grade advertisement writing skills in SMK Wiratama Kotagajah Central Lampung. The research method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is used to solve students' writing skill problem. The subjects of this research were XII accounting students at SMK Wiratama Kotagajah Central Lampung.

The research tools used to collect the data in this study were test, observation, documentation, and field note. The result of this research showed that the implementation of Brainstorming Technique was successful as the criteria for success were met. The first criterion was that 70% of the students could achieve the target score ≥75 based on the minimum mastery criteria (MMC).

Hasil observasi menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan teknik Brainstorming, sebagian besar siswa terlibat aktif dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga siswa dapat memunculkan ide-idenya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendemonstrasikan peningkatan keterampilan menulis iklan siswa melalui penerapan teknik brainstorming pada siswa kelas XII akuntansi SMK Wiratama Kotagajah.

The result of this research can give impetus to the principal to improve the skills of the students, so that they also increase the quality of the students. Thus, writing is a process that can be learned and used; it is not, like height, a product of genes about which little or nothing can be done.9 In addition, writing is clearly a complex process, and competent writing is often accepted as the language skill that must be acquired.10. In addition to the non-linguistic factors of writing are the habit of reading, motivation, knowledge of the world and learning strategies.

The writing process is particularly suitable for young ESL or EFL learners because one of the prominent features is marked fluency. This is the content of the text is about our statement or opinion that has reason. Although the teacher must establish some of all the usual roles when students are asked to write, the ones that are particularly important are the following:23.

At the root of the word 'advertisement' is the Latin verb 'advertere' which means 'to turn towards'.24 Although it is undoubtedly true that advertisements are texts that do their best to attract our attention to turn towards. But if someone wants to arouse the interest of a larger number of people, he must advertise in the more traditional sense of the word, by publishing a notice. Furthermore, advertising is one of the most controversial of all modern genres, partly because it is relatively new, but also because it is closely linked to the values ​​of the competitive, fast-growing global economy in which it thrives.

The same products may well be involved, but the underlying nature (and of course the content) of the benefits will be different. Here the purpose will be to communicate some aspect of the company's performance, such as its financial results. A final way of reading advertising is in terms of the geographical area, that it is in relation to the geographical area it is intended to cover.

In other cases, the manufacturer uses advertisements to communicate the specific problem to the widest possible audience to ensure rapid dissemination of information and equally prompt response on the part of the owners of such products. Both the advertising and sales presentation have the main purpose of getting the attention, interest and approval of the target audience. Otto Klepper, head of his own advertising agency in the second half of the 20th century, formulated the structure of advertising as follows:31.

In these steps, students will seek to think about the topic as quickly as possible. Students will be left to think of as many ideas as they can to answer the question on each sheet.

During brainstorming it will take five to ten minutes to list every idea that comes to mind. After these steps, students should write down the ideas they get and everything they can think of they should write on their paper. e) Revise ideas that are not needed. Students' ability to write advertisements can be improved through brainstorming technique in the twelfth grades of SMK Wiratama Kotagajah Central Lampung”.

In short, it can be concluded that the advertising writing skills of the students were very poor. From the above data, the researcher concluded that the students' score in advertising writing skills was poor. At the end of the meeting, the researcher gave feedback to the students about the learning process.

Students can write an advertising text on a topic using the brainstorming technique. Students can write an idea or words according to the topic. This table describes the comparison of students' results in post-exam I and post-exam II.

According to students' pretest and posttest I scores, there was an improvement in student scores. Based on the results of the pretest, posttest I and posttest II, it was determined that there was an improvement in the students' performance. Based on the graph above, it can be concluded that the brainstorming technique could improve the student's ad writing skill.
