Thus, the title of this research is: “The Effect of Text Turn Game on English Vocabulary Students in SMA N 1 Silau Kahean. The Text Twist game is one of the visual aids that can be used in teaching English. There are several ways to teach vocabulary, namely flashcard, puzzel, text twist game and others.

The writer will focus on finding the effect of text twist game on students' English. This research can give more information and knowledge regarding vocabulary teaching techniques, especially the game of twisting the text in the teaching and learning process.

Hyphothesis

Hopefully this research will increase their knowledge of their research and they will be able to complete their research and learn with this research.

In general, the vocabulary can be termed as a list of words that contains information about the meaning and usage of words and it resembles a dictionary. It means that vocabulary is an essential part of language as a language is formed by words. It can be concluded that vocabulary mastery is a complete ability of the learners to understand and communicate well by using the words they have learned.

It is undeniable that the development of vocabulary can be managed by deriving word meaning from context. Pictures can be embroidered drawings, wall pictures and cards, flash cards, magazine pictures and any other non-technical visual presentation. Picture can be used to explain the meaning of vocabulary items: teachers can draw things on the board or bring in pictures.

We saw how words exist because of their sensory relationships and this can be used to learn meaning. Explaining the meaning of vocabulary items can be very difficult, especially at the beginner and elementary levels. According to David Wilkins, as quoted by Thornbury, very little can be conveyed without grammar, and without vocabulary nothing can be conveyed.

Based on the above theories, it can be said that mastering vocabulary becomes the main success of language learning because without mastering vocabulary.

According to Fauziat without a sufficient vocabulary, one cannot effectively communicate or express his idea both orally and in writing. According to Thornbury (2002:2) stated that second language learners experience similar confusion even with much simpler texts. Puzzle games have a great advantage in training the student's intelligence, because with this game, the students really motivated the ability to think to be able to reunite the picture in the corresponding position.

Muchson (2008: 3) points out that one of the strategies for learning materials remains embedded in the minds of students, namely through the development of the test in the form of a crossword review. A word square is a number of meaningful words arranged to the right, above, or sing between some random words that have no meaning. The use of the word square requires a basic knowledge of the students before use, the student must read the material/subject to be studied or find the word in the word square that corresponds to the learning concept.

Scrabble is a word game played by lining up 2 or 4 people who get points based on the value of a word made up of letter pieces on board game boxes (15 columns and 15 rows). Players take as many as seven copies of the letter from the bag and try to form words horizontally or downwards in a crossword puzzle. The words that are made must be words that are allowed to be played according to the standards according to the language dictionaries that are being played.

In teaching a comic, they illustrated characters, words, colors in the form of a series of pictures that told stories and gave instructions, became materials based on teaching materials of a certain field.

It can be concluded that the text spinning game is developed on the basis of Scrabble Flash. It means that the word spinner is a kind of language game played in a group that emphasizes on arranging some letters in the task given to the teacher, and the player or students have to put the letters into the correct words as quickly as possible have to rearrange within a certain time. period of time. Text Twist Game is one of the teaching techniques that makes the students active in the classroom activity.

The teacher just shows the Text Twist game and asks questions, it can be a competitive game by giving one point for each correct answer. When playing the game Text Twist, the teacher shows the students blank boxes with unstructured words and gives an example of the correct words in the box. With the Text Twist game, students will unconsciously remember, write and discuss to find English words.

The author assumes that it is difficult to use the game because by using the game, the teacher must know the principles of text twisting game and apply the teaching in the class. Before the students start Text Twist game, the teacher gives the song, The teacher guides the students to memorize the vocabulary of the song, filling in the blank text on the paper given. The teacher hands out paper questions for the Text Twist game containing the aforementioned song lyrics.

From the above explanation, the researcher can conclude that a text spinner can provide a fun atmosphere during vocabulary learning.

Previous of the Study

She used several pre- and post-tests to obtain the subjects' improvement in vocabulary mastery. The mean of the initial pre-test score was 64, while the mean of the final post-test was 80. Based on the result, she concluded that the game makes a positive contribution to improving the subjects' vocabulary skills.

The latest previous research was conducted by Inayatul Mahmudah titled The Effectiveness of Using Text twist game in teaching vocabulary in seventh grade of SMPN 4 Kepil in academic year 2015/2016. The aim of this study is to describe whether or not the use of the Text twist game is effective in teaching the vocabulary of pupils in the seventh grade of SMPN 4 Kepil in the academic year 2015/2016. The researcher uses the Text Spinning Game in vocabulary teaching in the seventh grade of SMP N 4 Kepil in academic year 2015/2016.

Then the researcher administered pre- and post-test using multiple choice instruments. The result of this research shows that text rotation is effective in teaching vocabulary. This is shown by the mean of post-test being higher than the mean of pre-test.

Based on the result of the research, the researcher concludes that the use of Text twist game in the teaching of vocabulary as a teaching method is effective in teaching the students' vocabulary at the seventh grade level in SMP N 4 Kepil in the academic year 2015/2016.

Conceptual Framework

In fact, the average score of pretest is 71.50 and the category is Good. In this study, we focus on the use of game in the language learning process, especially Super Text Twist game. In addition to using the game, students can study vocabulary not only in class, but also in their home.

Research Design

X or the experimental class that was randomly selected from the population in the school took the post-test, but before the post-test was given, the pre-test was continued in the experimental class (X) to obtain the students' vocabulary mastery data score. in the second semester of the tenth grade at SMA N 1 Silau Kahean. After the data score was collected, the class received treatment using the Text Twist game. This aimed to know whether there was a significant impact of using the Text Twist game on students' vocabulary mastery or not before and after the treatment.

It was therefore seen from the students' vocabulary performance on the pre-test and post-test. The same did in the Y or control class, also randomly selected from the population of the school, given the postal test, and the control class was taught without treatment. The pretest also held in the control class before the posttest was given.

For example, the influence of both Text Twist and Without Treatment on students' vocabulary mastery during lessons was known.

This was done in the control class and in the experimental class to find out the quality of the students before the treatment. The writer has prepared something used in the pre-test, such as an instrument and others, by doing the preparation, the writer can easily hold the pre-test. The writer prepared some kind of test (called post-test) that was given to the students.

After The test was given to know the students' vocabulary mastery after receiving the treatment. The writer prepared something was used in post-test such as instrument, class and others.

Application

While in the experimental class, the author provided the treatment using the Text Twist game. After the writer has done the treatment in the experimental class, the writer gives post-test as a technique to measure whether the technique can give significant influence on the student's vocabulary mastery or not. After giving a pre-test and post-test, the author was collected all the data from the experimental class and the control class.
