In the case of the Laodiceans, Jesus relates the dullness of their drinking water to the church's spiritual zeal. Then members of the GBA Revitalization will evaluate those sermons and give the resident feedback. To fulfill this requirement, the resident spent time with the senior pastor of the textile sickle congregation on visits.

As Table 2 shows, the resident received excellent grades in the administration and leadership section of the rubric. The third part of the evaluation section of the revitalization plan focuses on the resident's vision of the church.

While some churches are ready to make significant changes, most declining churches in need of revitalization are unaware of just how sick they are. It takes time to help them

It is led through a church revitalization initiative, which is when a local church begins to work on the renewal of the church with a joint effort to see the ministry revitalized and the church become healthy. The words of our Lord when he spoke to the church at Ephesus in Revelation 2:1-5:. I have known pastors who have tried to change the culture of the church without going through the other three renewals.

Or, if you haven't seen it yet, which of these would be the greatest for the church you're in now or the church you've been involved with in the past. They confuse caring for the "building" with caring for the church and the community...it has become an idol. Or they remember a program or series of programs that once attracted people of all ages to become involved in the life of the church.

The church is probably resentful of their surrounding community because the people in the community are not as responsive to the church and the church's programs as they used to be. These Questions Assuming you're already on board with the theology and doctrine of the church… give Colin Adam's 41 Questions a go, too. What do you think the average person in the church would say is the best thing about the church.

Church members generally (and willingly) follow the lead of their pastors and leaders. Would the congregation object to the pastor working on sermons from outside the church? What the average person would say is the biggest problem in the church right now.

Which part of the church is most satisfied with the direction the church has taken and why? Which part of the church is least satisfied with the direction the church has gone in and why? The ability to feel and see God's next steps for a church and the ability to lead the church forward as a loving Shepherd.

Heart Posture #1: Humility

How you can invest time and energy into strengthening it and getting better at what you're already good at. How will you find people to fill the specific ministry gaps that exist because none of us are perfect. Spousal support is important if there are any of these areas where your spouse is weaker, which could cause ministry problems in the future.

Andrew Murray - “Humility is nothing but the disappearance of the self in the view that God is all. Mahaney - "Humility is to judge ourselves fairly in the light of God's holiness and our sinfulness". Humble Revitalizers aren't titled to show who's boss (they don't think they're better than everyone else).

Humble Revitalizers are quick to give credit to others and just as quick to take the blame. Humble Revitalizers are willing to do the things no one else wants to do (and do them gladly, with a servant's heart). Humble Revitalizers listen deeply to understand others' points of view because they know they have much to learn.

Humble revitalizers don't overreact when mistakes are made or when ministry ideas and programs fall flat. To paraphrase John Owens, if our affections are conquered by the cross of Christ, there will be no room for sin. Theology is transformative because it transforms your self-image and expands your understanding of God.

How have you seen a lack of humility damage yourself or others close to you in ministry. With the suggestions for cultivating humility in mind, how have you cultivated humility in your own life over the years. Mark And one of the scribes came and heard them arguing with each other; and when he answered them well, he asked him: What commandment is the.

28 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the

Pursuing joy in God is very different from just enjoying His gifts. Most of us know how to enjoy His gifts, but the pursuit of joy IN God actually transforms us

I think one of the dangers for me is that I want to fight for joy because I don't want to lead from a perpetually dry place. So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven. But sometimes, especially when we go through trials, we have to fight for it.

However, God's Word says that He intends to give us His joy both in this life and especially in the next. What were some effective ways you learned to fight for joy in these circumstances (from question 1). How might the challenges of church revival specifically be obstacles to joy in the Lord.

What are some possible consequences of leading from a place not rooted in joy. This project is designed to create a church revitalization residence at Greenville Baptist Association in Greenville, South Carolina.
