There are many problems of the study such as; students have low motivation, the environment does not support them in speaking, students have difficulty mastering speaking, the strategies used by the teacher are not interesting, the teacher's monotonous and inappropriate use of teaching methods, etc. The purpose of this research was to find out whether the use of communicative language learning in English teaching increases students' speaking ability or not, and to find out what the learning process of teaching is when communicative language learning is used in speaking classes. The conclusion of this research is that communicative language teaching can increase students' speaking ability.
Thirdly, students find it difficult to master speaking; Fourth, the strategies used by the teacher are not interesting; And finally, teachers. Compared to other methods, communicative language teaching seems to be the most interesting for students. Based on the background of the study and the above problem identifications, the writer formulates the problem in this research: "Can Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) increase students' speaking performance in the seventh grade of MTs Ma'arif 02 Kotagajah?".
To find out whether the use of communicative language teaching in English teaching increases students' speaking performance or not. Communicative language learning will probably be used as a reference for those who want to conduct a research on the English teaching process, especially to enhance students' speaking performance.

It is clear from the results of the pre-test that the students' results were different. At the beginning of the learning process of teaching, the researcher greeted the students with the words "good morning, it's nice to meet you all my students", and all the students replied with the words "good morning too miss and I'm glad to see you too", the researcher checks the attendance list and asks the students. condition. Based on the results of observing the learning process at II. cycle, we can conclude that most students pay attention to the teacher.
From the table above, it can be seen that the results of the students in post-test 2 are different. The researcher hypothesizes that teaching through communicative language teaching can increase students' speaking performance. From the result of the pre-test showed that most of the students difficult to do the test.
The researcher conducted post-test 2 to know the students' English vocal proficiency after implementing the treatment. This means that the action research hypothesis that stated that "the use of communicative language teaching increases students' speaking performance.

Theoretical Review
- The Concept of CLT

Communicative language teaching is better thought of as an approach rather than a method (Richard & Rogers, 1986). As Richard argues, the goal of communicative language teaching in language learning is communicative competence. Communicative language teaching has led to a reexamination of language teaching objectives, curricula, materials and classroom activities and has had a major impact on changes in language teaching worldwide.
Brown considered that "Communicative language teaching is a set of unified, but generally grounded, theoretically well-informed principles about the nature of language and language learning and teaching."9. Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) then discusses the implications of CLT theory in classroom practices, showing the dynamics of the context it constructs. Savignon said that communicative language teaching (CLT) mentions both processes and goals in classroom learning.
From the second definition, communicative language teaching is best viewed as an approach rather than a method. There are currently several proposals and models for what a syllabus might look like in Communicative Language Teaching.
Action Hypothesis
During this meeting, most students were able to practice reading English vowels correctly. In this study, in order to know the students' mastery of English vowels before applying the treatment, the researcher conducted the post-test 1. This showed that most students were successful in achieving the minimum standard criteria (70).
From the pre-test and post-test results in cycle 1, we know that there has been growth from the students. The result of the post-test in the first cycle and the post-test in the 2nd cycle shows that the learning of communicative language has increased the students' speaking ability.

 - Field Note

Observation is the change of election, recognition and combination of coding in the behavior and situation of the organism that suits the goals of the empires.10. The writer uses a method to obtain data about student activities such as student's understanding of the answer to the question, student's reading activity, and student's good participation. A test is a sequence of questions or statements used to measure the skills, knowledge, intelligence, abilities possessed by an individual or a group.11 The pre-test and post-test materials are different but have the same problems.
The pre-test was given in the first meeting before doing the treatments to know the ability of the students before doing the action research. The post-test was given at the last meeting after the treatments were done to see if the treatments made any contribution to the students. Improvement can be seen if the average post-test score is higher than the pre-test.
This step is performed after the treatment to know the influence of the CSR on whether it can improve the student's reading comprehension. Documentation is a method of collecting data by examining written objects such as a book, journal, document, note, and others.12. The writer uses this method to obtain data about the history of the school, the sum of teachers, officials and students of MTs Ma'arif 02 Kotagajah.
The field can be a workplace, a bus queue, a classroom, a home.”13 This means that the researcher needs the field note to record all the data.
Data Analysis Method
Before going to the material, the researcher asks the students to name the types of speaking. In the post-test 1, only 21 students obtained a good score, but the student test result was better than the students' test before treatment. During this meeting, the researcher handed over the materials to the students, but the students still have difficulty describing jobs.
During the research, the researcher noticed that the students were interested in learning and learning speaking. It indicated that most students have not yet progressed to achieving the minimum standard criteria of 70.

The Condition of MTs Ma’arif 02 Kotagajah
The researcher writes on the white board the types of speech that were mentioned by the students. There were several observations that were made such as; observation of student activities, teacher's notes and observation of assessment results. The result of the post-test in the first cycle and the post-test in the 2nd cycle shows that the teaching of communicative language has increased the students' speaking performance.
