English for Sale
The cultural content of ELT materials
The smiley faces and elements of aspirational culture – coursebook characters tend to be rich, successful and superficial – are part of the way in which speaking English has itself become a status symbol and a marker of social class. And we can see this by casting a critical eye on the images in these books as John Gray has done in an extensive study on the subject: "The evocative gaze of the represented participants and the sensory orientation of many of the works of art combine to greet students. to a lifestyle in which the discourses of success, mobility and egalitarianism form the basis of the promotion promise of English".
The marketing of English
The marketing of English also has a lot to do with the image of the language in a particular society. In the advertisements from the countries mentioned above, we can see that English is seen as a way to access a more privileged sector of society.
Promoting a third space
A context-sensitive and culturally specific approach to language learning – as exemplified in this quote – could help challenge these familiar stereotypical images that still dominate the marketing of English and the cultural content of most of our language materials. Learning Culture-content through Language
Having two teachers in the classroom, one paired as a native speaker of the target language and the main teacher, usually a more experienced but non-native speaker of the L2, gave the students the opportunity to solve conversational problems and appreciate the interconnectedness. It was one of the first times in my life that I was happy to fail an assignment because I don't want to be a human dictionary.
One of the problems that English language teachers in primary schools have to face is the attitude of other subject teachers. But since we consider that a comprehensive approach to teaching a foreign language can help many of the schools we are working with, we try to emphasize it.
A Genre Analysis of the Rhetorical Organization of RA Abstracts in Agriculture
Methodology
This study aims to analyze the global organization of agricultural RA abstracts by analyzing the abstract macrostructure in terms of its constituent elements. First, I examined the overall textual organization of each abstract to get an overview of the general characteristics of the abstracts.
Results
There are significant deviations regarding the arrangement of movements in the abstracts as 10 possible patterns were observed in a corpus of 18 abstracts (Table 3). In the first order, the results are presented after the methods and before the conclusion.
Discussion
This leads to a reflection on the pedagogical value inherent in the study and explicit description of abstract textual organization that reveals the conventional division of this genre. The results obtained in this study can be applied to the formal and systematic teaching of reading and writing in ESP courses and can be addressed to teachers, university program designers and curriculum planners.

Then, wouldn't it be possible to implement CLIL in language centers where subject teachers and language teachers could work in tandem (either together or in separate lessons that complement and coordinate subject content and language teaching). An organizing committee composed of Argentine students planned activities before, during, and after the American students' visit: email writing, a city tour, a press conference on key cultural aspects of the two countries, and an online newsletter. among others.
For example, simple gym exercises can be learned and followed by using the imperative for instructions. Similarly, the growth process of a seed, the water cycle, the description of the geographical features of the student's place or the characteristics of the weather do not require the high level of knowledge that should be introduced in foreign language lessons.
