The first is the application of micro-level coherence aspects to the 2020 IAIN Bengkulu student thesis writing summary. What is the identification of the application of aspects of coherence of the micro level of writing in the thesis writing of cumulative students in 2020 IAIN Bengkulu. What types of high and low micro-level coherence are used in the background of the problem in the 2020 IAIN Bengkulu student thesis.

What are the causes of low micro-level coherences used in the background of the problem in the 2020 student thesis IAIN Bengkulu.

INTRODUCTION

Identification of Problems

The first is coherence at the micro level such as difficulty using phrases as links between sentences and paragraphs, which are sometimes forgotten to be used in sentences, so they have to repeat reading what is written. The second factor is the native language interfering such as unification of a sentence and between paragraphs is still missing in the use of conjunctions such as additive context,.

Significance of Research

The first time there will be teachers who guide the students in writing. The teachers will show the principle of writing. It has been argued that a text is only coherent if the world around it is also coherent. Robert De Beaugrande and Wolfgang U. Dressler define coherence as a “continuity of senses” and “the mutual access and .. relevance within a configuration of concepts and relationships”. 2010). According to Thornbury in 2005, he said this coherence is expressed by the ideas stated in the first sentence, followed by or added by. the ideas in the following sentence. From all the data that 5,6,7 can conclude that they use good causal connection with the word "therefore'because, the result" the data explains connection mainly involves reason result and purpose relations between the sentence.

Similarly, each student uses the word "next" and the word "then" three of all the data. General Concept of Micro-Level Coherence

Imitative writing is a way of producing written language, which the learner must achieve in the basic basic tasks of writing letters, words, punctuation and very short sentences. While the intensive writing skills are technique of writing, most assessment tasks are more concerned with a focus on form, and are rather strictly controlled by the test design. Then, responsive writing is a writing assessment task that requires learners to perform at limited discourse level, connect sentence in a paragraph and create a logically connected sequence of two of three paragraphs.

Developing and using a variety of writing strategies, such as accurately assessing audience interpretation, using prescriptive devices, writing fluently in the first draft, using paragraphs and synonyms, seeking feedback from peers and instructors, and using feedback for review and editing.

Concept of Coherence

  • Part of Micro-Level Coherence

But within this textual world the arguments must also be logically connected in order for the reader/listener to produce coherence. For example; also, also, also, moreover, furthermore, besides, for example, likewise, similarly, and, besides, as is, or, indeed, means. The second sentence claims the solution of the problem towards the problem expressed in the first sentence.ll, for example; but, although, however, on the other hand, actually, alternatively, however, on the contrary.

The relationship is the second sentence gives a reason for the situation or request mentioned in the first sentence.

RESEARCH METHOD

Object of the Study

The object of this study is the texts that appear in the background of the cumluade students' thesis in 2020 IAIN Bengkulu. So the total number of reading texts taken in the background of the total background thesis is 10 background texts.

Research Instruments

  • Interview
  • Observation

And researchers used semi-structured interviews with cumluade students in the background of the thesis. Interviews are used to find out or know their perceptions or opinions as well as their experiences in writing a scientific paper especially on the background of an issue to find out how the process of writing the background of the issue is going , what difficulties they experience and the truth of the data. The first observation technique is to collect open and direct information by observing the background of the problem in writing the thesis of cumluade students in 2020 IAIN Bengkulu.

The researchers pay attention to or observe aspects of micro-level coherence that exist in the background of the problem in a thesis.

Data Collectique Technique

  • Recording
  • Documentation

The researcher observed that the writing of cumluade students' thesis will be analyzed and sampled in ten thesis cumluade students. The procedures were as follows: 1) the researcher came to the library Faculty of Tarbiyah and Tadris in IAIN Bengkulu;. The researcher used documentation (Thesis Background at Cumluade Students') for method during the interview and data collection.

Meanwhile, for the data collection of this research, the researcher had to make an appointment with the librarian at IAIN Bengkulu and ask permission to borrow the students' research paper and then make the copies of the texts.

Source of the Data

The table above shows that there are 9 sentences out of 18 that are included in the additional coherence. The table above shows that there are 5 sentences out of 14 that are included in the additional coherence. The table above shows that there are 5 sentences out of 20 that are included in the additional coherence.

The table above shows that 2 of the 16 sentences are included in the additive context.

FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

Discussion

From table 1 it can be concluded that 11 of the 26 sentences are included in the additive context. According to Thornbury in 2005, he explained the first sentence in comparison to that in the next sentence. From table 1 it can be concluded that 5 of the 26 sentences are included in the additive context.

The data are adversative coherence because the word. however" is the first sentence compared to that stated in the following sentence. ADV.C.S1.5)". The data belongs to adversative coherence because it expresses the first sentence as compared to that in the next sentence. The table shows that 9 of the 26 sentences are included in the additive context.

From table 1, it can be concluded that there are 9 sentences out of 18 which are included in the additive coherence. From the data we can see the same word to be used in the thesis student. From the data we can see that the word moreover” is added from the ideas in the next sentence before the first sentence.

According to Thornbury in 2005, he stated that the word adversative coherence is the first sentence compared to the one given in the following sentence. The table shows that 11 sentences out of 20 are involved in additive coherence. Types of high and low coherence at the micro level, which are predominantly used in the background of the problem in the thesis of the student of Cumluada.

The following table shows several types of micro-level coherence that are predominantly used in the background of the problem in cumluade student thesis 2020 IAIN Bengkulu.
