ii ABSTRACT

Sudirman (2012): Contributions of the Nonesuch models, Social motivation and Learning Civics Education process on trends Nationality of the character of the students at high schools in the city of Padang Panjang.

This study overshadow their backs on the vital building national character citizens especially students, which has been in the public discourse and the fact it looks in life, was assessed beginning to fade. Citizenship learning and on the other hand is expected to strengthen into character revitalization of Indonesian nationalism and nation building as a beacon of hope the future of education, in fact, still face many obstacles and limitations. In terms of citizenship education as a political and moral education is a necessity that can not be bargained to exist and progress toward a new paradigm for making citizens character including national character. Besides, from the literature and studies are read in addition to Citizenship Education, the exemplary and social motivation factor is variable enough to affect a person's character.

The purpose of this study is to identify and explain: 1) Description the Nonesuch models (Parent, Teacher, Leader / community leaders), social motivation, Learning Civics Education process and character of the nationality of students at high schools in the city of Padang Panjang. (2) The extent of the contribution of the Nonesuch models, Social Motivation and Learning Civics Education process either individually or simultaneously to the national character of the State high school students in the city of Padang Panjang. The method used is the method of survey with a sample of 190 students obtained a stratified random sampling technique and analysis of data using multiple regression.

The results of this study describe the general (1) The Nonesuch models (parents, teachers and leaders) is good. Social Motivation State high school students in the city of Padang Panjang category of moderate / sufficient. Perception of students to Learning Civics Education process from preparatory activities, the implementation of the learning process and the closing, including the good category. Character nationality students at high schools in the city of Padang Panjang classified as good (2) The Nonesuch models, social motivation and Learning Civics Education process have contribute positively and significantly to the national character of students at high schools in the city of Padang Panjang. (3) The Nonesuch models, Social Motivation and Learning Civics Education process are simultaneously have contribute significantly to the national character of the State high school students in the city of Padang Panjang, with a contribution of 75.7%.

From the results of this study concluded that the Nonesuch models, students' social motivation, Learning Civics Education process and character of nationality students at high schools in the city of Padang Panjang still includes quite good. While the contribution The Nonesuch models, Social Motivation and Learning Civics Education process either individually or simultaneously to the national character of the State high school students in the city of Padang Panjang is high. Based on these results, the authors recommend the need to do: 1) Improved graduation standards above also has implications also on the improvement of content standards, process standards and assessment standards, 2) the Board of educators and education units dare to give objective assessment, 3) material innovation, model and learning assessment systems that accommodate exemplary material, social motivation in the learning Citizenship Education process.

Sudirman (2012): Kontribusi Keteladanan, Motivasi sosial dan Keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan terhadap Karakter kebangsaan siswa pada SMA Negeri di kota di Padang Panjang.

Penelitian ini dilatar-belakangi oleh vitalnya membangun karakter kebangsaan warga negara khususnya siswa, dimana selama ini dalam wacana publik dan fakta yang terlihat dalam kehidupan, dinilai mulai memudar. Dan dilain fihak pembelajaran Kewarganegaraan yang diharapkan mampu memperkuat revitalisasi nasionalisme Indonesia menuju character and nation building sebagai tumpuan harapan pendidikan masa depan, dalam kenyataannya masih menghadapi berbagai kendala dan keterbatasan. Pada hal Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan sebagai pendidikan politik dan moral bangsa adalah sebuah keniscayaan yang tak bisa ditawar untuk tetap eksis dan maju ke arah paradigma baru untuk menjadikan warga negara yang berkharakter termasuk karakter kebangsaan. Disamping itu dari literatur dan kajian-kajian yang dibaca selain Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan, maka faktor keteladanan dan motivasi sosial adalah variabel yang cukup besar mempengaruhi karakter seseorang.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan; 1) Gambaran bagaimana Keteladanan (Orang Tua, Guru, Pemimpin/tokoh masyarakat), Motivasi sosial, Keterlaksanaan proses Pembelajaran PKn dan Karakter kebangsaan siswa pada SMA Negeri di Kota Padang Panjang. (2) Sejauhmana kontribusi Keteladanan, Motivasi Sosial dan Keterlaksanaan proses Pembelajaran PKn baik secara individual maupun secara simultan terhadap karakter kebangsaan siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Padang Panjang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survey dengan sampel sebanyak 190 siswa yang diperoleh dengan teknik stratified random sampling dan analisis data menggunakan regresi ganda.

Hasil penelitian ini mendeskripsikan bahwa secara umum (1) Keteladanan yang dimiliki orang tua, guru dan pemimpin menurut penilaian siswa tergolong baik. Motivasi Sosial siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Padang Panjang termasuk kategori sedang/cukup. Persepsi siswa terhadap keterlaksanaan proses Pembelajaran PKn mulai dari kegiatan persiapan, pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran dan kegiatan penutup, termasuk kategori baik. Karakter kebangsaan siswa pada SMA Negeri di Kota Padang Panjang tergolong baik (2) Secara individual keteladanan, motivasi sosial dan keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran PKn berkontribusi positif terhadap karakter kebangsaan siswa pada SMA Negeri di kota Padang Panjang. (3) Keteladanan, Motivasi Sosial dan Keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran PKn secara secara simultan berkontribusi positif terhadap Karakter kebangsaan siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Padang Panjang, dengan besar kontribusi sebesar 75,7%.

Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Keteladanan, Motivasi sosial siswa, Keterlaksanaan proses Pembelajaran PKn, dan Karakter kebangsaan siswa pada SMA Negeri di Kota Padang Panjang masih termasuk cukup baik. Sedangkan kontribusi Keteladanan, Motivasi sosial dan Keterlaksanaan proses Pembelajaran PKn baik secara individual maupun secara simultan terhadap Karakter kebangsaan siswa SMA Negeri di Kota Padang Panjang termasuk tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil ini, penulis merekomendasikan perlunya dilakukan; 1) Perbaikan standar kelulusan diatas juga berimplikasi juga pada perbaikan standar isi, standar proses dan standar penilaian, 2) Dewan pendidik dan satuan pendidikan berani memberi penilaian dengan objektif, 3) inovasi-inovasi materi, model dan sistim penilaian pembelajaran yang mengakomodir materi keteladanan, motivasi sosial dalam proses pembelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan.
