Most of all, I must give glory to God for being the good shepherd of my life and for ever drawing me to himself. I would like to give special credit to my wife, Sunny, for partnering me in life. She has protected this project from simply going back to work through supplements of food, coffee, friendship and the occasional reminder that there is still more to do.

Through your example, I learned to love my wife, the church and my Lord more. Thank you for sharing your companionship, advice and goodwill with me and Sunny. It is good that we worship with you, serve you and eat together at the Lord's table.

I am also grateful to Southern Seminary for the opportunity to study at such a fine institution.

INTRODUCTION

CPS had to rethink what family services look like in the school context. One of the areas CPS wants to be secondary to parents is the discipleship of their children. Attached to the survey was a section open for comments and criticism of CDG for further evaluation.

Parent-based discipleship is the commitment of parents to raise children in the fear and discipline of the Lord (Ephesians 6:1-3). Abraham, known to God, was the first to walk in the way of the Lord. Christensen says: "Focus on teaching your children 'these words' diligently within the context of the family - at every imaginable time and place -.

In the New Testament, all the duties of the people of God are applied. Rather than provoking anger, Paul requires Christian parents to raise children "in the discipline and instruction of the Lord" (6:4b). The diversity of genres covered (narrative, law, wisdom literature, letter and pastoral letter) shows the prominence of the theme of raising children in the Lord throughout Scripture.

Parents and Christian schools must work together for the good of the child. So to be great in the government of God, disciples must love and serve children.”6 In the context of the family, this means that parents must care for the spiritual and physical well-being of their children. Church Father Jerome wrote about the responsibility of parents for the actions of their children.

Part of the student's education is to learn to take every subject (thought) captive in order to obey Christ (2 Cor 10:5). Despite differences in study participation between mothers and fathers, the survey results were very similar between sexes. Before the last week of the semester, I thanked parents for their continued participation in the development of the CDG.

A large number of participants did not follow the instructions when creating a PIN. Of the 27 total responses from the post-test, only 8 could be linked to the original 38 participants. These additional resources have proven to be some of the most important aids to both classroom teachers and parents at home.

Likewise, the role of the church and church leadership was not addressed in the parent-school partnership, as the CDG curriculum emphasized.

By working through the books of Judges to Kings and engaging with the text, students should better understand the main themes and stories from these texts. Through discipleship with parents, students should develop a deeper understanding and connection between Scripture, worship, and family life. The remainder of the course content, including readings and activities not completed at home, will take place in the classroom.

Parents are allowed and expected to help their children formulate their Bible questions and answers, as well as help them learn the companion discipleship guide. Parents should guide their children through these readings and develop worship practices at home using the Co-Discipleship Guide as a guide to sustain family discipleship practices. The co-discipleship guide, when practiced, should better equip parents to engage their children in biblical discipleship and increase confidence in approaching questions from the Bible.

Once the Co-Discipleship Guide becomes routine, it should become easier and easier, as most of the content is memorized. Monday Read Ruth 3 as a class and discuss the contents of the passage with the students using the additional “And what?” as helpful in creating dialogue. Wednesday Read Ruth 4 as a class and discuss the contents of the passage with students, using the additional “And what?” as helpful in creating dialogue.

Parents should guide their children through these readings and develop discipleship practices at home using the Companion Discipleship Guide to inform family discipleship practices. The Companion Discipleship Guide, when practiced, should better equip parents to engage their children in biblical discipleship and increase confidence in both raising and answering questions from the Bible. Once the Companion Discipleship Guide becomes routine, it should become increasingly easy as most of the content is committed to memory.

So, this is a very important connection, and the book shows the outstanding character of the people who were the parents of David and later Jesus. In this way, the inheritance that God gave to his people would remain in the family forever. What aspects, if any, of the Fellow Discipleship Bible curriculum have been most beneficial to you and your family.

It helps me to assess the direction and interpretation of the passage according to the teacher (and/or school). I appreciate that it brings historical context and clarification to what is happening in the text. All the material is useful and used as a useful tool to teach our children about the Bible.

What aspects, if any, of the Co-Discipleship Bible curriculum need improvement or have been a hindrance for you and your family. There was a lot of material in the So What readings, the passages themselves were quite long. As it is, we have found it more workable to do the memorization/confession part in the evening and read the larger chapters of the Bible and do the discussion in the morning.
