I am also grateful to Jeff Johnston, who provided me with abundant support during my theological studies—providing most of the books in my library and the gift of personal growth along the way. I am completing this project because of the love I have for you and my desire to see you grow in the image of Christ, as well as my desire to see many more disciples of Jesus in our community and around the world.
INTRODUCTION
These commandments of God should not be thought of as a form of legalism. As a study of this passage shows, intentional disciple-making was how the Lord of the harvest would harvest his crops. This task seems to be an overwhelming responsibility—to make disciples of the whole world without the presence of Jesus.
Commitment to the local church helps by receiving accountability from the other members and church leaders. I wrote the first sermon for the sermon series and I wrote the first session in the disciple making curriculum. Making disciples requires both the corporate aspect of the church and the intentionality of individuals in their lives.
In the same week, I wrote the sixth sermon and the sixth lesson of the disciple-making curriculum. I emphasized the importance of the task that the Lord Jesus gave us, which is to be intentional about making disciples.
Disciple-Making Knowledge and Practice Assessment and Practice Assessment
Based on an average increase in participants' knowledge of 8.73 percent, an average increase in participants' practice of 9.05 percent, and an overall average increase of 8.93 percent, the goal of the project was successfully met. There was only one elder who attended, but 80 percent of the attendees were leaders in the church. Some of these questions were specific to discipleship, while other questions were theological with implications for discipleship.
For example, one of the seniors took a temporary night job that took him and his family away during the project.
Development of Sermon Series
Although this was not evident in the sermon manuscripts, I make a point in each sermon to highlight the gospel and its implications.
Development of Curriculum
These men are ministry leaders in the Church and have also shown great spiritual growth over the past two years. Due to the repetitive nature of this material, the teaching program has not been included in an appendix.
Disciple-Making Knowledge and Practice Increase and Practice Increase
A 10-week teaching curriculum of 10 participants resulted in a statistically significant difference resulting in an increase in their knowledge and practices of intentional student acquisition as (t p < 0.0001). 05, it can be said that the difference was not random and that learning about the intentional acquisition of students made a significant difference. Since the t stat of -4.713 (or the absolute value of 4.713) is greater than the two-tailed t critical value (2.262), I can argue that the learning intervention made a difference; and since the p value is .001 and is less than p =.05, I can say that the difference was not random and that learning about intentional student acquisition made a significant difference.
All tests showed that the sermon series and curriculum on intentional disciple making had a significant impact and that this was no coincidence.
Would Do Differently
Loving Authority Leads to Eager Action
He says in verse 18: All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. He says, “Now he has received the greatest possible authority, for it is authority in heaven and on earth. When Jesus claimed that all things were handed down to him by his Father, this must include things in heaven and on earth.
We must go by faith in the authority of the Lord of lords and King of kings: Jesus Christ.
The Joyful Call to Disciple-Making
We should be able to accept that Jesus wanted his disciples to make other disciples in the same way that he made them. Everything about the person had to be changed and this could only come through growth in the grace of the Lord Jesus through information and lifestyle. One comforting aspect of discipleship is that we are not called to make a "little mini-me" of other people.
Discipleship is the way Jesus has chosen to build his church, and we will build it his way.
The Energizing Presence of God
At the end of verse 20 it says: And behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. They have each other, but most importantly, the Lord Jesus will be with them every step of the way through the Holy Spirit. This high responsibility is helped by Jesus' soothing and energetic words when he says: And behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.
It was because Tim Garland and Michael Alsup took the time with me that I began to grow in the grace of the Lord.
To Love the One Unique True God
True love for God results in a person who has surrendered every part of himself to God's desires and will. The command to "love God" arises from a response to God's initiatory love. And these words that I command you today shall be in your heart.” – Reference to.
To be able to lead our neighbors and our children in the ways of the Lord, we must first love the One true and Unique God for ourselves.
Teach Your Children
Children are more likely to listen and listen, obey and be taught something new without prejudice. For those working in VBS this week, recognize the opportunity God has given you to give them the greatest news in the world about Jesus Christ. These children will have the opportunity to become a lover of God and not a lover of self.
God wants you to love Him, He wants you, the parents, to teach the children about Him, and now we're going to see how God wants this to go throughout your life.
Be a Witness to Your Neighbors
This should encourage you who are teachers in a classroom full of children all week. We want this to be a time when we remember and honor those whose bodies have returned to the dust. Jesus has proven to be the Messiah who has the extraordinary ability to heal every disease and every affliction.
We will see that people must have one important characteristic before they are able to make disciples.
Jesus’ Ministry Cared for the Whole Person
When we connect this with the word all, it reinforces the point that Jesus' ministry was comprehensive. The focus of Jesus' ministry was on his teaching and preaching, but it was not separate from his ability to heal. Through Jesus' willingness to heal every disease and every affliction of these people, he reveals that his compassion for people's souls is not separate from their physical well-being.
Although this is exactly right, we must not miss that Jesus' example was to serve the whole person.
True Compassion Results in Action
We cannot heal people, but we can take care of the needs of a neighbor when his house burns down or when his relative dies... If we allow political leanings to guide our feelings about something, then we will lose our ability to be salt and light in this world. The woman you work with who is distressed because her home life is a mess, but she's never there to take care of her husband, never cooks a meal, never spends quality time with her kids.
That's what Jesus did for people and we should have the same kind of compassion for others.
Pray and Go
We see that Jesus tells his disciples to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send workers into his harvest. The way we want to live and the way the world wants us to live are often opposed to the way God wants us to live. He did not seek suffering, but he willingly endured it because he was unconditionally committed to the purpose of the Father.
We too are called to be unreservedly committed to God's purpose—through self-denial, daily cross-carrying, and following Jesus—when the world and our own hearts are at odds with God.
The Invitation to Be Jesus’ Disciple
Sermon series: Jesus' call to deliberate disciple-making Sermon title: If someone were to come after me. Jesus' invitation follows immediately after Peter's declaration that Jesus is "The Christ of God". and the prediction of his suffering and impending death. They must be willing to not only deny their own sinful desires, but be willing to give up whatever status they have and replace it by following Jesus - and this will lead them to the suffering, shame and rejection of Jesus in this world.
Luke is showing us that a disciple must be willing to literally or figuratively die following Jesus—and that this commitment must be renewed daily.
The Way to Life is to Lose it
Jesus calls those who come after Him to be faithful in their perseverance in their discipleship. In some cases, there will be people who are called to give up many areas of their lives to become missionaries abroad. Joel Green summarizes Jesus' point of these two verses by saying, "You cannot cling to this life and serve the redemptive plan of God at the same time."
We must be wise in the way we live, but we must never think that we will be on top of the world.
Have the Right Vision of This World and the Next One
The presence of the kingdom of God most likely refers to the powerful events of the Resurrection and Pentecost. Now Paul returns to explain how Timothy should guard this precious treasure of the Gospel and God's Word. Paul reveals that this will be the precious treasury of the Gospel and of God's Word.
The focus is on the distribution of the good precipitation of the Word of God.
Love Others Like a Mother Loves Her Nursing Baby
If we think of Paul, Silas, and Timothy as apostles of Christ, we need not use the word generally. So being apostles of Christ meant that they carried out this mission in the name of the Messiah—God incarnate. As apostles of Christ, they had the right to make demands on the church—whether financial or otherwise.
He doesn't want them to think too much about this picture of the Apostles of the Messiah being babies, so he turns around very quickly to say, like a nursing mother caring for her children.
The Love that Gives of Oneself
So did Paul and the apostle's preaching of the good news of the gospel to the Thessalonians. In a church context, we must take up our cross and give of ourselves to one another. Jesus came not only with a message to preach, but he came to give his whole self for the sake of the elect.
I do all this for the sake of the gospel, so that I can share with them in its blessings."
