ONE CHALLENGE OF DISCIPLESHIP IS TO BE WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE
Matthew records Simon Peter's confession in 16:18 “And I also say unto you that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. Matthew was written for a Jewish audience, but also written for everyone to know Christ. The word implies that He turned away from Peter and said: You are not thinking about the interests of God, but about the interests of man.
THE SECOND CHALLENGE IS TO PREPARE FOR THE PROMISE
A THIRD CHALLENGE IS TO PRACTICE HIS PRESENCE
Some say that Jesus mistakenly prophesied of His second coming during the life of disciples. Others say the context reveals its purpose because the next chapter records the transfiguration of Christ. This (rule) of his grace is the hearts of all his believers and the rule of his power is the world that protects his believers”.
Jesus said "when the Son of Man comes in the glory of his Father with his angels" and then he will repay everyone according to his works" (v. 27). Faith appears ten times in Matthew and Mark, and faith appears nine times in Luke's Gospel. The Gospel of John was written to encourage readers to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
The main meaning of faith refers to a conviction in the believer's heart that acknowledges Jesus as Lord. The Bible says, "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is already condemned because he has not believed." Unbelievers close the door of heaven. John said, "These things are written that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ." John wrote so that his readers would see who Jesus really is.
John records the most important sign in the last chapters, Christ's death, burial and resurrection. THE SECOND KEY IS, FAITH MUST BE IN THE RIGHT PLACE. in 31) The Bible says that these things are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ. When Jesus asked Peter, "Who do you say I am?" his answer was, "thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus answered Peter: "Flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. When Jesus was on trial, the high priest said, "I adjure you by the living God to tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God." And Jesus said to him, nevertheless you told yourself. I tell you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of power and coming on the clouds of heaven."
THE THIRD KEY IS FAITH GIVES YOU PURPOSE IN THE RACE OF LIFE
He lived a life of rebellion and for years worked on slave ships, capturing people to sell to New World plantation owners. After his death, this was written on his tombstone: "John Newton, clerk, once an infidel, servant of slaves in Africa, by the rich mercy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, preserved, restored, forgiven and appointed to preach the faith which he had long labored to destroy.1. Church history is filled with stories such as the salvation experience of John Newton.
Still threatening the believers from the time of the stoning of Stephen, Saul heard of Jewish Christians who were spreading the gospel in Damascus. Blinded by the light, he fell to the ground and heard a voice calling his name, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" (v. 4). Saul, trembling, asked him: "Who are you, Lord?" Jesus answered, "I am Jesus whom you are persecuting." (v. 5).
The light of Jesus blinded Saul and his friends took him by the hands to Damascus. Instead of looking for Christians to persecute, Saul changed his mind and obeyed the Lord's command to wait in Damascus and be told what to do. After staying in Judas' house for three days, God sent a man named Ananias, a leader of the Christian church.
Ironically, the person Saul wanted arrested came to Saul to pray for him and encourage Saul to follow Christ. When Ananias prayed for Saul, something like scales fell from his eyes and he regained his sight. Saul was baptized in Damascus, and he became one of the Christian Church's greatest missionaries.
WHAT YOU LIFE WAS LIKE BEFORE YOU MET CHRIST?
HOW DID YOU COME TO FAITH IN CHRIST?
WHAT IS GOD DOING IN YOUR LIFE SINCE YOUR CONVERSION?
A crisis of faith will "make or break" us. The main problem is the perversion of the Bible. His earlier epistle often read "a servant of Jesus Christ," but now he added "according to the will of God." Perhaps this change was due to the fact that this letter was written towards the end of his life. The key phrase in verse nine, "God's word is not bound." Even though Paul was bound in chains in prison, he realized that God's Word has no limits.
The word "wit" emphasizes "the absolute clarity of mental vision which photographs all the facts of life." Jesus gave them three tests to see if he had first priority in the church. They had a good past, but it wasn't meant to take place in the present.
This refers to the presence of the Holy Spirit in the church. keeps' refers to His power. Some people believe that the Nicolaitanes were followers of one of the first deacons in Acts. Jesus gave them three tests to see if he had first priority in the church.
