It was destroyed a year later by the hurricane that many people's grandparents called "the terrible storm of the 26th". A second wooden church was rebuilt on the same site, but it was destroyed by the fierce hurricane of 1928. The Christian minister has been called by many names such as pastor, elder, curate, preacher, priest, minister and this is not a exhaustive list.1 The title of pastor is widely used to refer to a Christian minister. The term "shepherd" has special significance for God, but is often underused by people in the contemporary church.7 The pastor as shepherd has strong leadership implications.

Paul writes in 1 Timothy 3:2 that the leader must be “able to teach.” The only ministerial office implied in the list of qualifications in 1 Timothy 3 is that of leaders, namely the role of teacher.14 The office of teacher had a long and honorable history in Israel, especially from the time the law was enacted. promulgated.15 Moses was called to teach the law that he introduced. The pastor must understand that the whole work of the ministry is called curaanimarum, "the care of souls." It is not enough just to proclaim, "Christ is the answer"; the preacher must show how Christ is the answer.52 Preaching, in its fundamental nature, focuses on the ongoing human pursuit of authority and meaning.53 As members transition to become leaders, preaching helps them to understand the true essence of authority and understand meaning.

Jesus sent his disciples to preach.56 In Matthew 10:7 Jesus commanded the twelve and said: "And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'"57 Both Jesus and the disciples used preaching . as a training and development method. Therefore, fasting is a discipline that will improve the mind and body. The situation highlights the fact that organizations often make leadership changes when there are problems.3 The problem for the Titans was that there were problems in the leadership organization.

If one does not have influence, one will never be able to lead others.4 The ability to influence others is undoubtedly a key requirement for leadership.5 Church members who expect to influence the people they lead must have the ability to influence them. You have achieved excellence as a leader when people will follow you everywhere, even if only out of curiosity.”6 A church that develops ministry leaders must have. Instead of the church members assisting the leader in doing the work of the ministry, the leaders are assistants to the rest of the body to empower the church members for their service in the church and the world.8 The ability to empower church members depends on how much influence they have on the members.

PROJECT DESIGN

The focus was to share with the group through a sermon the importance of the pastor playing an important role in training members for ministry leadership. The format allowed the group to take notes during the talk and then discuss different aspects of the talk with the pastor. The main purpose of this seminar was to help the group understand the value of strong character as a leader.

The sermon was entitled "Models of Ministry." The focus of the sermon was to highlight the importance of living what one speaks. Some in the group expressed different convictions that the sermon brought to them as members. The sermon was entitled "Living by the Book". The premise of the sermon was to enlighten the group on the need to live in such a way that others would not be able to suggest that they were not persons of good character and integrity.

The purpose of this seminar was to lead the group to a place of transformation in having a sensitivity to living a life of good character as a leader. After the sermon ended, the group spent 10 minutes in prayer and meditation reflecting on the sermon. The first goal of the seminar was for the group to understand the concept of fasting and how important it was in the lives of believers and leaders.

The first goal of this seminar was to teach the group the benefits of being an effective leader. The second goal of this seminar was to develop the members of the group to become influential leaders. The purpose of teaching this in the seminar was to make the group aware of how they communicate verbally and non-verbally.

The main objective of this seminar was for the group to realize the advantage of connecting with the right people as a leader. The goal was to strengthen the group so that leadership involved many sacrifices. The group was led to discuss the value of making the right decisions.

CONCLUSION

It was also significant that the individuals within the group realized the need to understand the practicalities of leadership in a ministry. The training seminars led to a significant transformation of the mindset of the focus group members. The group realized that one of the missing elements in some members' lives was the pastor's lack of leadership training.

It was found that some of the members did not make it a practice to pray before making decisions. Some of the group members grew in their knowledge to understand the physical and spiritual sacrifice that comes with fasting. There were many in the group who felt they were relatively aware of the practical side of leadership.

As the focus group went through the training, the group agreed that the training method should be required for anyone who wants to serve leadership in the church. The group believed that the elements of the training should be part of the Church's model of ministry. The seminars, surveys, questionnaires and discussions allowed the group to assess the value of the project and its benefits to the New Mount Olive Baptist Church.

One aspect of the project that was a very visible strength was the benefit of pastoral interaction with members. The weight of that personal connection proved to be an invaluable strength of the project. It became very personal for each person in the group to see the project succeed for the benefit of the entire church ministry.

The feeling of needing God in the ministry became even more evident in the lives of the members. The group exemplified strong character as they worked through the various aspects of the project. I was truly amazed and humbled by what I saw God do in the hearts of the group members.
