INTRODUCTION

Research Question

To describe the students' learning style in English in second grade in SMP Negeri 3 Parepare. To find out the relationship between students' learning style and learning outcomes in second grade English in SMP Negeri 3 Parepare. Stated that the results of a learning process can be maximized if the teacher's teaching method fits with the students' learning style.

This research identified the students' learning style while correlating it with the learning outcomes of the students. In other words, the correlation between students' learning style and learning outcomes is strongly correlated.

The Objective of the Research

Significance of the research

By understanding their learning style, students will find it easy to decide the learning strategy related to their learning. In addition, it can build understanding of the influence of learning style on student achievement and can be used as a reference for future researcher who wants to conduct a research related to this research.

Conceptual Framework

The Conceptual Framework is an overview of the relationship pattern between variables in a coherent whole, which is a description of the focus of the research.29 This framework was intended as the basis for systematic thinking and reduces the problems discussed in this research.

Hypothesis

The design of this research used quantitative correlation and quantitative analysis techniques in data collection.1 The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between students' learning style and students' learning outcomes in the second grade of SMP Negeri 3 Parepare. This research identified the students' dispositional style among the students' learning outcomes, the learning style referred to three types, while the learning outcomes accumulate from the learning aspect, namely cognitive, affective, psychomotor, moral and all aspects that try to evaluate the regulations on educational curriculum. Determining Learning Style (X) The table below was a description of the learning style of the students, which was carried out based on the questionnaire that he expanded through the Google Form, the learning style of the students (X), the writer calculated the average score for each type of learning style.

The highest average score of the students determined which type they were (the procedure for calculating the average score of the students' learning style can be seen in the appendix). From the calculation, it was found that visual (16 students) prevailed among students, followed by auditory (8 students) and lastly kinesthetic (6 students). This has very clearly resulted in students mostly getting a visual learning style in this class.

Learning style which conditions enable students to perceive, process, store and recall learning content. From the results of the normality test it was found that the learning style score which (sig = 0.176> 0.05) and the learning outcomes get the score which (sig = 0.164> 0.05) it can be said that the data are normally distributed. The final result of the analysis referred to the significant correlation of the person's correlation, which summarizes that, there is a positive correlation between learning style and learning outcomes, categorized as strong correlation conducted by inferential analysis.

Correlation Students Learning Style and Student Learning Outcomes The amount of field researchers receive is indeed normally distributed. The result of this research can be used for the research to identify the learning style of the student and also for the future researcher who wants to do. Variable Operational Definition

METHODOLOGY OF THE RESEARCH

  • Location and Time of the research
  • Population and Sample
  • Instrument of Research
  • Technique of Data Analysis

The data were obtained from a questionnaire containing 24 items considered learning style as the X variable and a document that took the English score as the Y variable, selected based on the sample. The table above is an explanation of the students' learning style, which consists of visual, auditory and kinesthetic, it showed that the students' learning style, which refers to the visual style, was the most dominant learning style, which was shown in 16 students, the auditory learning style style was 8 students and kinesthetic was 6 students. The results of the students' learning outcomes showed very excellent results, which really focus on the data of the students' results in their learning process.

Based on the theory, it summarizes that there is correlation between learning style and student outcomes because (Sig 0.00 < 0.05), H1 is accepted which shows positive correlation because the score of Person Correlation in Positive Score. The most popular learning style is three; Visual learning style, Auditory learning style and Kinesthetic learners. In their classroom activities, students had to contend with learning style that is really relevant to their learning habit, This stated that, students require learning style proportionally from the students' habit towards their activities which also influenced their attitude. 38.

All the statements of the expert above really support the result of the data which showed that visual learning style became the dominant learning style among the students, while it is also found in the general quality of the students, learning style can determine the performance of the students among the students in the class. Teaching methods and learning styles should be complementary to make the learning process a quality, efficient, objective achievement and can attract students to learn more about a study.41 That statement proved that students' learning outcomes and their learning style must be relevant to get achievement. The explanation above is the proof of the data that is really valid to get in this research result.

This explanation answered the research question about the correlation of learning style and learning outcomes, the researcher conducted several tests before knowing whether there was a positive or negative correlation between learning style and learning outcomes, the researcher first conducted a regression test to determine if there was a relationship between the dependent variable and the independent variable. Teachers are people who can influence students to design the learning style as effectively as possible, so the teacher should provide more excellent media in the teaching process, causing the balance of learning style and student results. students. FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

Discussion

The researcher made the data after completing all the data sources from the respondents, the data was obtained from the questioner and the document identified in the previous semester, this discussion discussed more about the clear explanation of the research question which referred to the students' learning style, the students' learning outcomes and the relationship between them. Another influence on student performance refers to the attitude, it is an internal symptom with an affective dimension in the form of a tendency to react or react in a relatively constant way to objects of people, goods, etc. Learning outcomes seen as behaviors achieved by students after experiencing learning activities, the goal for the learners is a description of the desired behavior change or description products that show that learning has taken place.

Evaluation of the learning process is an attempt to give value to teaching and learning activities performed by students and teachers in achieving the goals of teaching. Learning outcomes can be concluded that a change in student behavior after participating in learning activities that includes three areas (cognitive, affective and psychomotor). Learning outcomes also called as the learning outcome which appeared in the learning outcome after completing the learning process, the researcher found the document which representative of the students learn the outcome of the study, this type of document should be very different and valuable as a reference for student learning outcomes.

The learning results of the students showed a very good grade, the students mostly got a very high grade in their learning process; the data were validly taken from the teacher at school. While psychomotor skills, such as the ability to perform a series of physical movements in matters and coordination, are social and intellectual.43 In fact, they refer to the data that become the result of research conducted from three aspects of learning success, they get from the classroom. . The researcher identified the learning outcomes of the students by identifying all the aspects mentioned in the theory above.

Furthermore, the researchers conducted the normality test, where the purpose of the normality test is to determine whether the data is normally distributed, or in other words, the normality test was a test to determine whether the data obtained from the field is in accordance with a certain theoretical distribution. The researcher tried to test whether the data that the researchers receive in the field is really normally distributed. In addition, after testing the normal status of the data, the researcher conducted a hypothesis test to identify the correlation of the variable.
