Crankshaft Deflection Checklist

Immobilization certificate from port authorities has been taken

Vessel is not in dry-dock

All running gears are intact and no major part is removed for maintenance

Vessel is in lightship condition

Sea and wind condition is in calm state Ship is at zero trim or list

Cargo loading/ unloading operation Ship is in high temperature area Main lube oil pump is stopped

Indicating cocks are open before rotating turning gear Tie rod bolts are tightened to rated torque

Holding down bolts are tightened to rated torque All doors are opened for ventilation

Forced ventilation is provided

Explosion proof lights and lamps are used Propeller clearance is taken from bridge

Ply cards and notice pasted in ECR about the operation Deflection gauge is checked for trueness and zero error Deflection gauge is kept near engine to adjust to engine temperature

Deflection gauge punch mark is present on the web
