INTERNSHIP ACTIVITIES

It was a great for working as an internee in MNA Consulting. As one of the requirements to complete the study in President University, working as an intern in worldwide company is needed to build reliable worker character, consistency, and patience for student’ dedication while working as a real employee.

In the taxation department, the supervisor guided me well. From basic one until the complicated tasks that make me easily understand the tasks without further confusing while the partners give different cases in the same tasks cycle. Sometimes I also need to ask anything unclear and their good attention to me make them not only answering everything I asked, but also guiding me to perform what is unclear to be perfect and complete. I work in 7-8 hours in a day.

During the internship program, the basic tasks I did are;

1. Help senior to input data to eSPT

2. Help senior to find and prepare documents to be taken to the tax court

During my Internship activities, I learned about how to implement a good coomunication, work under pressure, team work, working in tight deadline, and time management.

CHAPTER IV

PERSONAL RESULT AND POINTS LEARNED

4.1 Personal result

Internship is one of the most important part of university’s learning. As an intern MNA Consulting for 4 months, I learn a lot of skills and knowledge.

The internship was worthwhile for me. I learn so many knowledge and skill about work even though I feel very tired. I learn how to work in under pressure with the deadline which gave from my supervisor. I experienced on how become a real employee. Besides that, the other important key to be success as employee, it is soft skills. Soft skills in here could be socializing, communication, adapt in new environment and motivation.

Internship is very useful for my implementation way of theories that I learnt before and it gave me a figure about the real working environment. As an intern in MNA, sometimes I face many misscommunication. In that situation, I learned how to deal with these things and push me to more confidence to talk with another people.

In the place I work, I tried to interact professional with the colleague. My superior forces me to not be shy asking what I didn’t know. Interaction with others in the fieldwork is not easy, everyone is busy while I need to ask the complicated task. At first it was nervous, but after trying interaction with them I realize that they are so kind and care to me. In my mind, they of course have many interaction experiences in the field work. So they know how to treat with interns.

4.2 Point Learned

Realizing that one of the internship purposes is to obtain key learning or lesson-learned by experiencing the real working experience through internship, here are some points learned that has been successfully obtained by the student:

1. Internship program has been very valuable experiences. From internship program the students have learned how real working experiences, and

(12)

implementing the entire course given from the last 8 semesters from university. With the assist from a professional and mentor the students able to get career experience and self-development and motivation.

2. The student has knowledge for personal strength and weakness. How it might affect writer’s performance, how to overcome weaknesses and enhance strengths.

3. In personal growth, the student knows how to adapt in working environment, how communicate and behave many people with different characters and levels, how to develop self-management, be discipline, take responsibilities, more active and initiative.

4. The student can grow a connection from various company and institutions (conduct a meeting with client might resulting reference). That can help the student for the future career or social life.

(13)

CHAPTER V RECOMMENDATION

5.1 Recommendation for Company

The recommendation for companies that hire students as an intern, they should guide the internee properly. So, by that the internee will gain knowledge and skill also. The companies may let the intern to accompany them for coming to tax court for facing trial on the behalf of the client or related activities, this kind of activity may give lot of opportunities for internee to learn every step that should be taken in the future.

5.2 Recommendation for University

It’s better if the university provide the students with more brief information and specific requirements about the internship earlier based on their major, especially for the grading system and task that should have done. Then for accounting study program, it’s needed to learn about accounting software in the university and provide accounting laboratory. It will make the student have a skill in practice before they face a real work.
