ABSTRACT
SMAN 1 Bukit Batu has a library or usually called a reading room.
Currently, the management of the reading room is done manually, with students coming to the library to read or borrow a book, be it a formal book or a fiction book. In addition, the library or reading room does not allow all types of books to be borrowed and brought home, making it difficult for students who want to study, read or find materials outside of school hours. So an online reading room application system was designed at the SMAN 1 Bukit Batu library, designed using the PHP programming language with the Laravel framework and MySQl as a database management system. This application provides features of categories, book lists, book borrowing, book returns, members, fiction books, formal books, and online reading rooms. The result of the research is an online reading room application in the library which is expected to make it easier for students to read and search for books according to their category.
