Editor and Reviewer comments:
Reviewer #1: In this manuscript, the authors prepared four kinds of Fe3O4-based composites and characterized the composites in detail. The removal of four kinds of metal ions from
solutions were studied and discussed the results in detail. After reading the manuscript, I think it can be accepted for publication after revision.
Special comments:
1. There are some grammar errors in the main text and highlight section such as "%
adsorption decreased a contact time of 150 minutes, stirring speed of 250 rpm, and a solution pH of 8 was 76.73%", "The effects of heavy metals effects directly impact a life by accumulating in the food chain even at low concentrations'', "Figure 3.2 shown that the highest % adsorption at pH 7 (neutral)." etc.
2. In the Introduction section, several critical reviews about the elimination of metal ions should be added in the revised form such as: Biochar, 2021, 3, 255-281; 2020, 2, 47-64; The Innovation, 2021, 2(1), 100076.
3. What means AAS?
4. In Figure 3.1, the sorption reached the highest value at contact time of 120 minutes and then decreased with increase of contact time, why?
5. In Figure 3.2, the sorption occurred at pH 7.2. Generally, the sorption of the metal ions should increase with pH increasing and then maintained the high level at high pH values.
6. The interaction mechanism should be discussed more detail in the revised form. Several important papers are helpful to improve the discussion of the results such as: Chemosphere, 2021, 274, 129743; 2021,283,131241; 2021,262,127901.
Reviewer #2: This manuscript reports the preparation of Fe3O4 magnetic nanoadsorbent and applied it for the removal of heavy metal ions. However, the manuscript is just merely reporting on many fundamental macroscopic removal behavior studies and very little on critical analysis on the microscopic mechanism of the material in pollutants purification system. After careful reading the manuscript, I think it can be accepted for publication after major revisions.
1. "% Adsorption is affected by contact time, stirring speed, and pH of the solution." is not the highlight.
2. The title should be improved; it should be more precise and represent to the contents.
3. Check the sentences "Environmental pollution by heavy metals is a severe problem along with the use of heavy metals in industry. The effects of heavy metals effects directly impact a life by accumulating in the food chain even at low concentrations".
4. Abstract: please supply the full name of AAS.
5. "[1][2][3]" revised as "[1-3]"; "[4][5]" revised as "[4, 5]". Please carefully recheck the whole manuscript.
6. "The various methods include the …… and adsorption." The author may use the below related references to support this. Science of the Total Environment. 2021, 800, 149662;
Journal of Cleaner Production. 2021, 319, 128641.
7. "Various types of adsorbents for heavy metal ion compounds' physical and chemical adsorption have been developed……" such as MOF materials: Journal of Cleaner Production 2021, 278, 123216; Chemical Engineering Journal 2021, 406, 127139.
8. "Figure 1.1. Fe3O4 magnetic nanoadsorbent formation" should be redrawn.
9. There are many mistakes, for example "the adsorption process. in this case,", please carefully recheck the whole manuscript.
10. "In graph 3.1 can be seen that the % adsorption for the four heavy metals (Mn, Fe, Pb and Zn) reached 99.27%……" where is the data of Mn, Fe, Pb and Zn?
11. The fitting parameters of Langmuir isothermic and adsorption kinetics should le supply in Tables.
12. The reaction mechanism should be confirmed by micro spectral analysis.
13. Check the sentence "In this study, the coprecipitation method synthesized FM nanoadsorbent and remediated air contaminated with various heavy metals……"
14. Authors need to further check the references and their cited formats, I find some errors in them. Please check the references carefully.

Data in Brief (optional):
We invite you to convert your supplementary data (or a part of it) into an additional journal publication in Data in Brief, a multi-disciplinary open access journal. Data in Brief articles are a fantastic way to describe supplementary data and associated metadata, or full raw datasets deposited in an external repository, which are otherwise unnoticed. A Data in Brief article (which will be reviewed, formatted, indexed, and given a DOI) will make your data easier to find,
reproduce, and cite.
You can submit to Data in Brief when you upload your revised manuscript. To do so, complete the template and follow the co-submission instructions found here: www.elsevier.com/dib- template. If your manuscript is accepted, your Data in Brief submission will automatically be transferred to Data in Brief for editorial review and publication.
Please note: an open access Article Publication Charge (APC) is payable by the author or research funder to cover the costs associated with publication in Data in Brief and ensure your data article is immediately and permanently free to access by all. For the current APC

MethodsX (optional)
We invite you to submit a method article alongside your research article. This is an opportunity to get full credit for the time and money spent on developing research methods, and to increase the visibility and impact of your work. If your research article is accepted, we will contact you with instructions on the submission process for your method article to MethodsX. On receipt at MethodsX it will be editorially reviewed and, upon acceptance, published as a separate method article. Your articles will be linked on ScienceDirect.
Please prepare your paper using the MethodsX Guide for
