DISCOURSE ANALYSIS FINAL TERM 1. Adjacency pairis

1. Initial Greeting:

 "Selamat pagi. (applause)" says Obama.

 Analysis: This is an opening greeting in Bahasa Indonesia, and the applause indicates that the audience responded positively.

2. Finishing Expressions of Gratitude:

 Obama: "As a reminder, I'd like to express my gratitude to the entire Indonesian people: thank you." Thank you very much. Assalamualaikum."
