MORPHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF COMPOUNDS USED IN THE NOVEL ``WITH CLOSED EYES: THE COLOR OF DROWNING''. This research examines the types and meanings of compound words used in the novel With Eyes Closed: The Color Of Drowning by Jason Miranda. Therefore, the researcher identified all the words in the novel in order to find out the types and meaning of the compounds.
In this research, the researcher uses a qualitative method with content analysis to identify the types and meaning of compound words in the novel "Eyes Closed: The Color of Drowning" by Jason Miranda. In data collection, the researcher used the documentation technique and the steps are reading the novel, underlining the words, selecting and systematically collecting data according to the types and meaning of compound words. Based on the contextual meaning of the compound words, there are 56 words categorized as endocentric compounds and 45 words categorized as exocentric compounds.

Based on the above explanation, the researcher tries to examine the compound words used in a literary work. For research purposes, the researcher selects some examples of compound words that are found in a novel by author Jason Miranda titled With Eyes Closed the Color of Drowning. Based on the tree diagram above, the composite header is formed by two elements with the same header (N) and header (N) categories.
Based on the tree diagram, we can understand that the word subtraction is a compound noun consisting of two elements. Problem Formulation
Identify the types of compound words in the novel "With eyes closed the color of drowning". Identify the meaning of the compound words in the novel "With closed eyes the color of drowning." In general, the result of research on compound words in novel will theoretically increase our knowledge about compound words themselves.
This research will also contribute to the studies and we can also understand the compounds in the novel "With closed eyes the color of drowning". Morphology is the study of word formation, including the ways new words are put together in the languages of the world, and the way word forms vary depending on how they are used in sentences.12 Therefore, morphology is concerned with the internal constituent structure of words also. Data Collecting Technique
In data collection, the researcher used the documentation method to obtain detailed information about the leaflets used in the novel Blindfolded, The Color of Drowning by Jason Miranda. These are (1) deciding on the novel, (2) reading, the researcher read the novel with his eyes closed the color of drowning by jason miranda, (3) underlining the words in the novel that contained the compound, (4) selecting and collecting data systematically according to types and meaning of compounds.
Data Analysis Technique
The clues themselves are compound words found in the novel Eyes Closed: The Color of Drowning. After identifying the data, the researcher classified the data depending on their types, formation and meaning. The data is calculated to find which types of compound words are most dominant in the novel Eyes Closed: The Color of Drowning.
Research Result
In the novel With Eyes Closed: The Color of Drowning, there are 51 compound names distributed and it has a share of about 50.5%. The last is a compound adjective, which is the least compound word in the novel Eyes Closed: The Color of Drowning. In this work, the researcher would like to discuss the meaning of compound words found in the novel With Closed Eyes: The Color of Drowning.

Meanwhile, there are two formations in compound adjective which are noun + adjective and preposition + adjective. In the novel With Eyes Close: The Color Of Drowning there are 56 words or 55.5% in endocentric compound words meaning and 45 words or 45.5% in exocentric compound meaning.
Suggestion
The researcher hopes that the result of this research can be used as a reference for other researchers who want to know about word formation and literary work especially in a novel. However, there are many things that can be analyzed in word formation such as derivation, blending, cutting, acronym etc.
