belakang Kelebihan sekaligus kekhasan pasar tradisional adalah adanya nyang-nyangan (tawarmenawar harga) dan suasana yang memungkinkan penjual dan pembeli menjalin komunikasi dan kedekatan. Dalam tawar-menawar harga
tersebut, terkandung bargaining atau posisi tawar antara Pj dan Pb yang bisa mempertahankan kekuasaan (power) dan kekuatan dengan argumennya masing-masing melalui bahasa.
Tujuan mendeskripsikan wujud kode pilihan bahasa dalam jual beli di pasar tradisional Kecamatan Winong, Kabupaten Pati.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan sosiolinguistik.
Metode observasi dan wawancara. Analisis data : pendekatan kontekstual.
Hasil (1) Kode yang berwujud bahasa dalam jual beli di Pasar Winong terdiri atas (a) bahasa Jawa dan (b) bahasa Indonesia;
(2) Kode yang berwujud tingkat tutur terdiri atas bahasa Jawa ngoko, madya, dan krama;
(3) Kode yang berwujud ragam (style) terdiri atas ragam lengkap (elaborated code) dan ragam ringkas (restricted code);
(4) Kode yang berwujud dialek terdiri atas bahasa Jawa dialek Pati dan bahasa Jawa standar.

Metode teknik simak libat cakap, teknik simak bebas libat cakap, teknik rekam, dan teknik catat. Analisis data : metode etnografi.
Hasil -Wujud pilihan bahasa yang digunakan oleh masyarakat Kota Pekalongan etnis Jawa–Tionghoa–Arab dalam ranah perdagangan meliputi tunggal bahasa, alih kode, dan campur kode.
-Pola akomodasi bahasa yang dilakukan etnis Jawa–divergensi, Tionghoa–konvergensi dan Arab–konvergensi.
-Faktor penyebab terjadinya akomodasi bahasa masyarakat Kota Pekalongan etnis Jawa–Tionghoa–Arab dalam ranah perdagangan adalah status sosial, jarak sosial, usia, dan tujuan tuturan.
-Fungsi sosial akomodasi bahasa masyarakat Kota Pekalongan etnis Jawa–Tionghoa–Arab dalam ranah perdagangan adalah fungsi representasi, referensi, heuristik, interaksi, regulasi, instrumental, dan personal.

Hasil -Results of teacher’s responses indicated that they mostly code switch when student’s response in relation to the comprehensibility is negative and they do not grasp the concepts easily in L2. They never encourage students to speak Urdu.
-Student’s results showed that they mostly prefer code-switching into their L1 for better understanding and participation in class.
