EDITOR’S SUMMARY REPORT
From your editor:
It has been a pleasure to edit your paper on the properties of alloys formed with different nickel
concentrations and holding temperatures. It was an interesting look at the microstructures of these metals, and it is clear that you put a great deal of effort into writing it. I have edited your document, paying careful attention to articles and verb tenses. Please review my edits before accepting or rejecting any changes. In addition, please review this summary report for some of my more general observations about your paper.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work on your manuscript. I wish you the best of luck with your publication process.
Yours sincerely, Kelly M., PhD
Overall Summary
• Abstract The abstract is an appropriate length and does a good job of succinctly describing the work and results presented in the paper.
• Introduction The introduction is fairly short but covers the important background information for this project, including why this type of steel is useful, a discussion of related work, and a statement of the motivation for this project. Sources are cited appropriately.
• Methods The methods describe the sample preparation and characterization well. I especially liked the use of Table 1 and Figure 1, which make it very easy to understand the heating procedure and compare the samples.
• Results and Discussion
The results and discussion section presents simulated and experimental results for all of the samples studied. A logical, step-by-step discussion of each figure is provided. If word counts allow, it may be worth adding a little more description of the images to some of the figure captions, as noted in a comment.
• Conclusion The conclusion concisely describes the results obtained in this work. It may make the paper stronger to add a sentence at the end emphasizing the significance of the results, but this isn’t necessary.
• References The reference list was omitted from the word count and was not checked. In-text references appeared to be formatted consistently.

• Tables Tables and figures were well-formatted with appropriate captions. One table requires a few labels to be translated, as noted in a comment in the tracked file.
Some punctuation was added to captions to separate list items and make full sentences.
