INTRODUCTION

Educational institutions are formal educational institutions (Oktri Permata Lani dkk., 2022). Fundamentally, educational institutions function to support insight, knowledge, skills and abilities as provisions for the future so that they can channel their talents and potential (Yanuar dkk., 2022). Based on the social context, education functions to prepare students to obtain a job, as a means of transmitting knowledge, skills, attitudes, values and norms, in addition to functioning as forming humans who have a social role, and as a means of social integration.

Learning, especially in the field of education is nothing but the transfer of knowledge but rather to cultivate students’ reasoning power as a basic reserve of life at the next level (Farid, 2023). Student management is a business that supports the process of student learning activities (Nida dkk., 2023). With good management, educational institutions can increase the potential, interests, talents and hobbies of students to be able to participate in one of the activity programs known as Extracurriculars. One of the extracurricular activities that has received a lot of attention in educational institutions is scouting.

Scout extracurricular activities for students are directed to have a creative attitude in innovating in a better direction (Rahman dkk., 2023). With the existence of a very strong constitution or rules regarding the scout movement because scouts direct to the person of my nation (Zulfa & Yasin, 2022). In this case, based on the speech delivered by the deputy chairman of the West Java Kwarda Engkus Sutisna at the Gebyar Bangsaku event at the Sumedang Kwarcab on October 14 2012 that ‘Scouting is the Person of the Indonesian Nation.

Therefore, scouts are more inclined to one of the extracurriculars that has these characteristics (Agustanti & Astuti, 2022). The obligation of scouting activities in schools by the Ministry of Education and Culture has its own reasons and objectives, as stated in Article 4 of Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 63 of 2014 that Scouting is a guide to the process of developing values, attitudes and skills. In this case, Scouts have a very important role to shape the character of children.

The scout extracurricular is an alternative to train and develop students to have good character (Zarnuji, 2022). In the way of implementing education in the scout movement using the Among system (‘Ing Ngarso Sung Tulodo, Ing Madya Mangun Karso, Tut Wuri Handayani’ (Syah dkk., 2022). Meaning: In front of setting an example, in the middle participating in building/implem.

Scouting is an educational process that is carried out outside the school environment and outside the family environment in the form of interesting, fun, healthy, organized, directed and practical activities (Teguh dkk., 2023). noble character. Based on this statement, scout extracurriculars are one of the appropriate school programs according to researchers for instilling character in students, one of which is scout coaching.

Apart from that, in scouting we are also known as scout coaches, scout coaches are adult members who have a high commitment to the principles of scouting education

(3)

voluntarily without coercion and work with students, as partners who really care about the needs of students, patiently motivating, guiding, fostering, assisting and facilitating and completing all student development activities.

We are also introduced to the term scout coaches who are the motivators and drivers of scouting activities who must have a passion for educating scouting values and skills (Zarnuji, 2023). At this time the scouts are experiencing a setback in terms of interest caused by the incompetence of the scout coaches, therefore the author wants to evaluate the program for coaches in a front group base.

Scout activity at An-Nur Darunnajah 8 Islamic Boarding School, Cidokom, Bogor, West Java (Nur dkk., 2023). carried out outdoors so as to provide a creative element to students after a full day through the learning coaching process. The scout coach provides games that contain educational elements and is continued with scouting material.

Scout activities at An-Nur Darunnajah 8 Islamic Boarding School are an extracurricular activity that is packaged in interesting and fun activities but also contains educational values (Agus Triansyah dkk., 2023). To form good coaches, it is necessary to evaluate the learning program in the hope that students can increase their interest and attractiveness to students in terms of scouting at the An-Nur Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School
