Abstract
Research is undeniably a hallmark of academic life of universities and writing skripsi is one of the affirmative examples. This paper is aimed at developing an instrument to measure the feasibility of research areas and methods for English Language Education Study Programme (ELESP). The first type of design and development research method (DDR/R&D)—product design and development—was used. 570 skripsi from the year of 2000 until 2011 were investigated. The extent of feasibility of research areas are potential, feasible, and saturated and that of research methods are feasible and less feasible. The instrument was developed based on these analyses. It assesses the research areas in terms of their topics (compatibility with the curriculum, the avant-gardeness and saturatedness, recentness, originality, and the logic and scientificness), the maintenance of logical unity of title-problem-purpose-method, and the relevance of the theories and the research methodology in terms of the appropriateness, the compatibility to students' characteristics and academic capacities, the representativeness and characteristics of data or samples, and the appropriateness of data collection and analysis.
Keywords: measurement instrument, ELESP, Skripsi
will be qualitative in nature. Data will be gathered through teachers' reflection. The researcher will ask the participants of this study to write their perceptions in implementingEdmodo, including its benefits and challenges. Data coding will be employed in the process of data analysis to find the thematic organization of the data.
