INTRODUCTION

Films are often called movies or live pictures. The film is also known as cinema.

Cinema itself is an abbreviation of cinematography which comes from the word kinematics or motion (Rhodes, 2016). The film is classified as a product of art and culture that is presented accompanied by the use of technological elements so that the film contains a high aesthetic because it is produced by humans with full creativity. When viewed from the other side, films only provide entertainment for the audience, whereas apart from radio, television, and telecommunications, the film is a means of mass communication (Silverblatt et al, 2014). The film can be used as a tool to convey social or moral messages from filmmakers to audiences (Evans, 2018). Not much different from the previous definition if we refer to Law Number 8 of 1992 concerning

Film, it can be said that a film is a work that contains elements of art in it and often raises the existing culture and how to make it using technology.

Some people state that films are only for entertainment and some consider films as a medium that can indirectly provide learning to the audience. Often filmmakers make films based on personal experiences or real events and then bring their stories to the big screen (Baron, 2013). The film has the potential to be a good learning medium for its audience because it is not only entertaining (Cohen, 2013), films are able to convey the messages contained in them through various ways such as pictures, dialogues, and scenes.

There are two to more personalities in a family who become one because of blood relations, adoption, and interactions in a

household (Simanjuntak & Barus, 2020). One of the basic goals of the family is as the lowest unit that greatly influences the formation and development of individual identity. According to the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), there are 8 family functions that must be carried out by all family members;

the function of religion, the function of love, the function of protecting, the function of culture, the function of teaching, the function of reproduction, the function of finance, and the function of environmental development (Simanjuntak, et al, 2021).

Apart from function, the family also has value (Popenoe, 2020). This family value can be a guide for each family member to develop the character, norms, and rules contained in the family environment. Dunst and Trivette’s deal assumes that family values are values that are believed, adhered to, and practiced by every member of their family. The family values in question include: a) Believing in and being committed to improving the welfare and development of family members, b) Clear values, rules, and belief systems, and explaining what behaviors can and cannot be done, c) Life goals, d) Sharing responsibilities, e) Respecting the individual rights of family members, f) Having family traditions, g) Believing in the importance of being proactive and learning about new problems, h) Believing that everyone can be better off if family members work together problems can be solved, i) Consider family integration and loyalty (Dunst and Trivette, 2014).

In times like today, audiences tend to be more interested in films that contain value because of this factor (Fuchs, 2015), many directors make films with values embedded in the film. The value itself is a useful trait for human life. Therefore, if something is valuable or useful for human life, it is called valuable.

Therefore, the audience is expected not only to enjoy the spectacle that is presented but also to be able to find values and messages in the existing films so that the audience can learn how to live and live various life problems (Elsaesser et al, 2021). Indirectly, there are various ways that writers, directors, producers, and actors can do to make film lovers smarter.

One of the local films that elevate family values is the film Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini.

As a film that raises the issue of family drama, the NKCTHI film can be said to be effective in conveying existing values so that it is sufficient to educate the audience.

The purpose of this research is to find out and describe the family values contained in the film Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini.

Using qualitative methods, researchers collect data through observation of the NKCTHI film (Sofyan and Kurniadi, 2021). The data collected was processed descriptively. Based on the explanation of the context of the problem above, it can be concluded that the focus of this research is how "Family Values in the Film Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini".

METHOD

The method in this study uses a descriptive technique with a qualitative approach. Qualitative research itself is research that aims to clearly understand what is happening and experienced by the subject of research. The use of qualitative methods in the writing of the researcher was chosen based on the application required by the researcher (Colorafi and Evans, 2016).

Data collection techniques are based on the workings of this study using observation techniques (Sofyan and Kurniadi, 2021). The observation technique is a data collection technique that is very commonly used in factor research. It is an easy way because it can be seen directly and has better accuracy when compared to other techniques. By using the observation technique, the researcher watched this film over and over again to remind and find missing family values and did not forget to observe every scene presented to look for the focus of the research, namely family values contained in the NKCTHI film.

Through this research, the researcher inserts words, sentences, quotes, and dialogues (Abdul and Woods, 2015). In addition, the researcher also describes several scenes that contain the focus of the research to make it easier for this research to classify the existing data.

RESULT

Based on the focus of this research, as previously explained, namely family values in the NKCTHI film which leads to the nine items

of family values described by Dunst and Trivette deal, it was found that there are similarities in items that can be grouped into five, namely 1) value trust, 2) the value of tolerance, 3) responsibility, 4) mutual support, and 5) have family traditions or habits. In addition to excerpts of words, sentences, quotes, and dialogues of the characters, it turns out that several scenes can represent the five predetermined family values, as well as the meaning of general family values so that they are appropriate and applicable in society (Dunst and Trivette, 2014).

The following is an explanation of the results of researchers in analyzing family values contained in the film Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini:

1. Trust

According to KBBI trust is a hope accompanied by confidence in others about honesty, kindness, and loyalty. In the family environment, trust is the main capital in the formation of a harmonious family and will make family members recognize, respect, and appreciate each other (Ruiz et al, 2015) so that positive energy will be created in the family environment.

This value is found in the forty-ninth minute where Aurora the second child will be doing her first exhibition but when the time to work on the work that has been promised before with her is over, Aurora asks for extra time. Although in this situation Aurora is allowed we need to know when we have made a deal or promise it will be better if we can

(4)

keep it because it affects someone's trust (Fang, 2014).

In addition, this value is also found at eighty-eight minutes when Aurora is talking to Mrs. Ajeng about the lies that Narendra's father has committed to his children. Even though the father is the head of the family, lying to other family members is still not allowed.

2. Tolerance

According to the language, tolerance is defined as a person's ability to be patient and restrain himself when faced with situations that do not suit him. Tolerance can prevent problems caused by differences (Medzhitov, 2012). In the family sphere, tolerance is also very important, because the reality is that every family member, especially children, grows up in a different environment so that their thoughts and decisions will also be different.

This tolerance value is clearly seen at the sixty-seventh minute when a woman named Lika as the lover of Angkasa, the first child, said that for four years she had a love affair with Angkasa, Lika did not mind when Angkasa put her family and dreams first.

The value of tolerance in the NKCTHI film apart from what has been stated above, there is also the overall character of Aurora as the second child, played by Sheila Dara Aisha.

Aurora tends to prefer silence and restraint to avoid disputes (Medzhitov, 2012).

3. Responsible

Responsibility is an awareness that comes from within humans for all actions that they do intentionally or not (Cohen, 2013). A

person who is responsible is a person who accepts, is aware of, and realizes the obligations or rights given. Every member of the family must be responsible to his family.

Safety, education, and life are also included in the responsibility. A sacrifice is sometimes needed to fulfill a responsibility.

The value of this responsibility is raised a lot in the film NKCTHI. One of the things that attract the attention of researchers is the responsibility of an older brother to his younger brother. It was emphasized in the twenty-fourth minute of the father's dialogue with Angkasa as the first child

Father: "Never let your siblings go, they are your responsibility, Mas!"

We often encounter this in everyday life because it is considered a natural thing in society that an older brother should be able to take care of his younger brother even though responsibility is not an easy thing (Petalas et al, 2012).

In addition, the responsibility as a husband and father of his 3 children is also shown by the character Narendra in the sixth hundredth minute.

4. Mutual Support

Support is an act of trust and tolerance because we believe in someone's abilities, supportive because we understand the purpose of someone's decision, and supportive because we accept someone's change (Maccoby, 2017).

In a family environment, mutual support is very important considering that the family is like a team that is reaching its target (Wen and Lin,

(5)

2012). This mutual support is a form of cooperation for each family member to hold hands for the common good. Mutual support is not only in the form of material support.

Twenty-eight minutes tells the story of Awan, the youngest child when he faced several failures in the near future such as being fired from his place of work and an accident made him very depressed but Angkasa came as an older brother to tell his previous experience and support his younger brother Awan to stay afloat.

Fifty minutes, when Awan was confused by his condition, which was the first time he was facing a new figure, a man named Kale taught and opened Cloud's eyes to see this world more broadly.

Ninety-two minutes, Ajeng as a mother grieving protractedly because of the loss of the death of one of her children so as a husband and father to her children Narendra reminded and supported Ajeng to be grateful for the blessings that exist and persist in taking care of the other children as well as wholeness. his family.

Ninety-nine minutes, still being told by Awan and all the new things for him, Revina, one of the best friends that Awan has, is there to accompany, believe, and provide the support that even though it takes time all these problems must have a solution.

5. Have a Family Tradition

Family tradition is a repetitive and meaningful behavior in a family that is recognized by every family member and

carried out symbolically (Simanjuntak, et al, 2021). Each family has different traditions, such as gathering for Eid, eating together on birthdays, traveling together during holidays, family meetings to discuss something, and so on. This family tradition is very important to strengthen loving relationships in the family because there is always a momentum for all family members to gather, meet face to face, talk, and get closer to each other as well as give a sense of identity and kinship.

The value of family traditions in the NKCTHI film is found in the ninth minute during the scene of the father, mother, and their 3 children where they will go to dinner together on the father and mother's wedding anniversary. Although finally Awan the third child could not come because he was chasing his work from the office and the other family members turned the vehicle back towards the house when they were on the way.

DISCUSSION

Based on the discussion, analysis of the data obtained, and research on the film Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini, it can be seen that there are similarities in the items of family values from the nine items of family values developed by Dunst, Trivette, and Deal which are grouped into 5 items. family values, namely 1) the value of trust, 2) the value of tolerance, 3) responsibility, 4) mutual support, and 5)

(6)

372

having family traditions or habits (Dunst and Trivette, 2014).

Researchers managed to find the meaning of family values that matched the reality prevailing in society and tied them to 8 family functions according to the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), this film managed to reflect 6 functions including; the function of love, the function of protecting, the function of culture, the function of reproduction, the function of teaching, and the last function of finance (Fauzia, 2017).

CONCLUSION

Family values in the NKCTHI film in general, are clearly displayed through narration,

words, and verbal film dialogues such as storylines, behavior, and actions, as well as dialogues performed by the actors. Meanwhile, connotatively, the representation of family values is the development of every viewer's thinking from its general meaning. The use of non-verbal signs such as mimics, actor gestures, background, lighting techniques, and camera techniques also play a role as supporting elements in the meaning of family values. Refers to controlling emotions, psychology, perspective, and thinking of each audience. The film Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini is successful in reflecting the meaning of family values and functions that exist and apply in society because it is helped by real,

close, and close conflicts.
