Less than seven years later, the Scott County FFA Alumni is one of the most active chapters in the state. Cover student expenses for State Leadership Camp, National FFA Convention, Washington Leadership Conference and Made for Excellence.

As a result, it received the Outstanding Affiliate Award in 1997 for its support of the local FFA chapter and agricultural education program. Share with alumni what they can do to serve the program. In the beginning, teachers invited alumni to support projects directly related to the chapter's program of activities.
Knowing what the program was about helped these leaders focus the branch on the real needs of the program, students, and teachers. Scott County Alumni holds an induction dinner in September where more than 100 parents, supporters and students hear about the benefits of alumni and FFA membership. Two agriculture teachers shared their insights and strategies for building this most important partnership with graduate members. Gilmore, the 70-plus member alumni affiliate is five years old, says member involvement should be structured around the fact that teachers are responsible for the program. Baker adds that advisory committees serve as natural places for alumni members to provide support and volunteer their time.
Since that time, the program has grown to more than 75 students, one-third of the school's enrollment. Molalla alumni have also single-handedly helped the local program secure funding and permits for a new 60' x 125'.

The goal is to create a positive impression of the chapter and to educate board members about what students learn in the program and by participating in FFA events.
FFA members set up a display in the main student assembly area during National FFA Week. All district administrators receive a copy of the monthly chapter newsletter to inform them of FFA activities and the positive things members are doing in the community. During the second meeting, participants identified top priorities and set goals related to the agricultural education program and the school. Diverse groups with divergent – even conflicting – interests found common ground on which to build alliances that focused on “the possibility.” Study the trends that could impact your program in the future to give you an idea of the future environment in which you will operate.
Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your program, especially in areas where you face challenges. Examples of Strategic Planning Goals Here are some goals that stakeholders (partners) in New Jersey developed as part of their strategic plan to accomplish their vision. In the strategic planning phase, you will want to examine trends that may affect your program in the future.

Another key to local success was the creation of a website and distribution of a newsletter, which helped Whaley report the results of the program to the community. Newhouse shows the different units and the approximate number of days per unit in each course column.
