We wish to submit an original research article entitled ” Gallic Acid Content and Antioxidant Activity of Pomegranate Peel Ethanol Extract” for consideration by Majalah Kedokteran Bandung.

We believe that this manuscript is appropriate for publication by Majalah Kedokteran Bandung because “this manuscript is the continuous study on pomegranate peel ethanol extract which has been proven to have the ability to inhibit the proliferation of cervical cancer cells (HeLa).
Pomegranate plant has many secondary metabolites, it was reported that the extract contains ellagic acid, gallic acid, and punicalagin which are identified as major effectors of antitumor activity. Therefore, on the extract was further carried out by identifying one of above compounds namely gallic acid. Gallic acid is a strong antioxidant, antioxidant compounds have been known as a defensive system against oxidative stress which decreases reactive species; the compounds can maintain normal cells from exo-/endogenous oxidative damage and reduce carcinogenesis chance successfully. Both data gallic acid content and antioxidant activity can be used in supporting of antiproliferative activity of the extract. The field of this manuscript is a medical research. Therefore, the manuscript belongs in this journal.
