Topic: Styling Tips for Scientific Papers
How to write a good scientific paper? Of course, you need to have a good result in the first place. But this is not enough! Your paper must be interesting and compelling to read. It must be well structured. An engaged reviewer or grader will be more sympathetic than one who feels punished by reading your work. In this talk I try to convey some style lessons for writing scientific papers that I learned over the years (often, the hard way). I will give some simple, yet effective guidelines. I point out pitfalls and potential mistakes. And I will use plenty of examples and occasionally make a not so serious remark.
Audience:
No specific knowledge is required to appreciate this talk, but you should have a good grasp of spoken and written English. The talk is of interest to anyone who plans to write a scientific paper or essay in English.
