The exhibit, called "Plus Six," will include a broad range of works in the contemporary arts: Lithographs and other prints, editorial and advertising photography, jewelry, sculpture, advertising design.

The new faculty members and exhibiting artists are: Lance Baber, assistant professor of art education; William Detmers, chairman of the Art Education Program; Eileen Divine, visiting lecturer in visual communication; Rose Divita, instructor in printmaking;

Bruce Dorn, instructor in photography, and Dale Traugott, instructor in sculpture.

The exhibit runs thrfJugh December 22.

Annual Conclave -- Dr. David A. Hamburg, president of the Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Sciences, will address the 57th Annual Luncheon Meeting of the Riley Memorial Association this week. RMA members, friends, guests, and professional colleagues will meet Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. in the Union Building.

Educating Adults -- The Adult Education Council of Central Indiana, a group interested in all areas of adult education, will meet for a Dutch treat luncheon Wednesday and hear Rollin (Bud) Jump, director of the Harry E. Wood Continuing Education Center. The session is scheduled for noon at the Key West Shrimp House.

F'aperwork -- So that the Dean of the Faculties Office has time to prepare academic items for the I.U. trustees' December meeting, complete paperwork for all academic appointments requiring board of trustees' approval must be filed in that office by Wednesday. The address is: Administration Building, Room 108.

On Screen -- The "Avant-Garde Cinema" series at the Herron School of Art continues this week with four films from the 160s: "S~orpio Rising," "Fire of Waters,"

"Window" and "The Flicker." The screening begins at 8 p.m. and it's free. Total viewing time is 78 minutes.

A View of the Mainland -- Dr. Shau-Eng Koo, professor of economics, will

talk about his recent tour of the People's Republic of China during a Lunch and Learn program Thursday at noon in the Union Building. Koo visited eight major

cities throughout the country, including Peking, Shanghai and Nanking. He will focus on the social, cultural and economic life of modern China. No reservations are

required and you can either bring your own lunch or pick up a tray in the mezzanine cafeteria. For more information, call Ext. 7294.

Thursday -- "PEC Methods for Mildly Stiff Differential Equations," Mathematical Sciences Seminar by J. Conrad Crown, professor; Krannert Science Building, Room 125, 3:30 p.m.

Son of Gong Show -- The IUPUI Student Activity Board is sponsoring its own brand of "The Gong Show" Thursday at 8 p.m. in the Union Building. IUPUI students will be contestants in the program "em-ceed" by Jeff Lucifer from WNDE. Admission is a mere 13¢ (to be donated to the United Cerebral Palsy Association). You'll also get a free bag of popcorn but you'll have to fork over some change for soft drinks.

Participants -- Faculty members from the I.U. School of Social Work were among the participants in the three-day 87th Annual Fall Forum of the Indiana Conference on Social Concerns, held last week at the Hilton Hotel. Valjean Dickinson was chairman of the program committee, which included discussions led by Elizabeth Navarre on "Violence in the Family" and Gayle Cox on "Social Work and the Minority Family." More than 800 persons attended the conference which covered some 44 topics under the general headings of "Facing the Issues," "Families" and "Community

Responses." Theme of the conference was "A Curriculum for Caring."

Cosmetic -- Male and female volunteers are needed for an ongoing cosmetic testing program. Payment will vary according to type of test and number of laboratory visits required. Apply in person at the Elizabeth Arden Dermatology Laboratory, Regenstrief Building, sixth floor, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

New Number -- University Motor Pool Vehicles Reservations has a new telephone number: 264-2653. The office (in the Physical Plant Building, Room 112) is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Vanishing Art -- Unusual brass rubbings, almost a lost art, are on view in the Union Building display cases this month, the work of Diana and Claire Armstrong, a monther-daughter team who have also exhibited at the Indianapolis Museum of Art and at Purdue University.
