INTRODUCTION

The learning process in school use the textbooks is required for teachers to implementation the media which is useful for easier students to accept lessons responsively, practical and easy to understand by students. The use of digital media (Hakim & Sari, 2019); (Anshori, 2016) such as Computers and android already familiar to junior high school students (SMP), almost all primary and secondary needs, necessary for economics and educational, has been provided on the digital screen as a feature to facilitate the lives of people around the world. The education is urgent for digital applications in mathematics (Ratnasari et al., 2018), the mathematics is difficult to understand without any media used during the learning process. The perception of mathematics is a relatively difficult subject as explained by (Siregar, 2017) while mathematics is very much needed in today's digital and technological era. Accorded (Patahuddin & Rokhim, 2009) said that the role of the teacher is needed to direct students so that the learning process of mathematics is fun and easy to understand mathematics material. So that the use of the right media is one of the teachers' efforts to overcome this problem using online mathematics games in the learning process of mathematics.

Online mathematics games are one of the learning media that is suitable for the intellectual level of junior high school students and very popular with students as to produce a mathematics learning media that is fun and makes it easier for students to understand mathematics teaching material (Hamidah &

Hakim, 2016). Online mathematics games are provide various forms of mathematical material. The online mathematics games is listed at the URL: https://www.ixl.com or ixl math. In line with this Andriani (Yanni, 2019) explained by implementation of online mathematics games, the students' ability to understand mathematics material increased. The implementation of online mathematics games as a learning media it has several functions can clarify subject matter is difficult so that easy to understand, attract more students attention so that students become motivated in learning mathematics, an effective and enjoyable learning.

Researchers have made preliminary observations of researchers at several junior high schools in the Lhokseumawe is SMP Negeri 2 Lhokseumawe, SMP Negeri 3 Lhokseumawe dan SMP Swasta Sukma Bangsa, Researchers get information from both students and teachers in the field of mathematics studies that the majority of students still have difficulty learning some mathematics materials such as statistics, due to several factors, namely students have difficulty solving mathematics problems. The mathematical representation ability is to construct understanding by reasoning and communicate through pictures, maps, writings and students' attitudes so mathematical ideas emerge clearly (Sabirin, 2017). Students who have ability of mathematical representation ability can be characterized by the actions of students trying to understand mathematics problems quickly, thorough, logical and solve problem of mathematics (Sulastri et al., 2017).

Mathematics lessons are abstract and algorithmic on junior high school student, the level of intelligence development is still difficult to understand the abstract so in this case it is necessary to innovate teachers in implementing effective learning. Among the innovations that teachers can make by applying learning media in the learning process. Accorded (Ilyas et al., 2020) said learning media has several roles, namely that it can concret things that are abstract and help students explain subject matter that is difficult to understand verbally. As explained (Andini & Yunianta, 2018) by using the media, will students to attract more attention and not easily get bored in learning. The implementation of media will be creative to solve of mathematics problems (Abdillah & Sudrajat, 2014).

The advantages of online mathematics games are explained by (Khatimah et al., 2019); (Wibowo, 2020) that students are free to make decisions and solve mathematics problems and can use a short and efficient time, teachers can evaluate student work through direct observation when operating the game, will be happy of students with learning by applies online mathematics games. The mathematical representation ability is learning meaningful and help clarify or expand mathematical ideas (Zhe, 2012). The mathematical representation is basic abilities who students must have in using mathematical ideas (Chen, 2016). This is also explained (Sabirin, 2017) that the ability of mathematical representation makes students construct understood with reasoning and communicated explained mathematical ideas.

Accorded (Rangkuti, 2013) ability of mathematical representation is instruments for students to understand mathematical knowledge. So that from these definitions it can be concluded that ability of mathematical representation is disclosure, explanation of mathematical ideas can be in the form of tables, pictures, formulas to find solutions of mathematics problems and show understanding which is displayed in oral and written form, and body language or gestures.

RESEARCH METHODS

Research conducted by researchers in 2020 by doing online learning due to the conditions during the Covid pandemic 19. This type of research is experimental research with a quantitative of quasi- experimental design. Then one form of research design is “Pre-test and Postes Control-group Design”.

For more details, see the research design in the table below:

mathematics games of as many as 21 students and class VIIIB given conventional learning with details of the data as many as 20 students. This research was given on Statistics material with 10 meetings.

Research at SMP Negeri 3 Lhokseumawe obtained data as many as 28 students of Class VIIIA and VIIIB. Class VIIIA conducted learning using online mathematics games with 14 students detailed data and Class VIIIB was given conventional learning with detailed data of 14 students. The research at SMP Swasta Sukma Bangsa Lhokseumawe obtained data of 54 students class VIIIA and VIIIB. the student of class VIIIA as experiment consist 26 students and class VIIIB as control consist 28 students.

RESULTS DAN DISCUSSION

The results of the pretest and posttest value of mathematical representation ability can be determined N- gain, serves to determine the difference to improve of mathematical representation ability. The normalized gain is calculated by dividing the difference between the post-test and pretest scores with the difference between the ideal value and the pretest value.

From thr data analysis obtained the N-gain average of mathematical representation ability by using the Online Mathematics Games is higher than the N-gain average of conventional. This shows that mathematical representation of experimental class is higher than the conventional class. The difference in the improvement of the mathematical representation ability of the experimental class and the control class, the mean difference test was carried out, but The normality test and homogeneity test were carried out on the N-gain of the two samples. Based on the normality and homogeneity tests that have been done above, it shows that the N-gain of mathematical representation ability of the experimental class and the control class is normally distributed and homogenity. To determine the difference in the improve of mathematical representation ability, using t test was performed. Test the hypothesis is “the improve of the mathematical representation ability which taught using online mathematics games better than taught conventionally of junior high school students in Lhokseumawe”.

Hypotheses:

H0 : Ha :

H0 : There is no improve of the mathematical representation ability which taught using online mathematics games better than taught conventionally of junior high school students in Lhokseumawe;

Ha : The improve of the mathematical representation ability which taught using online mathematics games better than taught conventionally of junior high school students in Lhokseumawe.

From the data analysis a significance value consist 0,031; 0,041; and 0,028, these values are less than the value α = 0,05, and value tcount consist 2,115; 2,072; and 2,322 greater than ttable consist 2,023; 2,055;

and 2,014. Because the significance value is smaller than α or tcount > ttable, maka H0 ditolak dan Ha

diterima, the concluded that the improve of mathematical representation ability who are taught using online mathematics games better than students who are taught conventionally of junior high school students in Lhokseumawe.

To analyze the activities of teachers and students in the experimental class and control class during the mathematics learning process. During the learning process, an observation sheet is needed to observe the activities of teachers and students in the experimental class and the control class. All teacher and student activities were observed by the observer, from the first meeting to the last meeting for 10 meetings. Analysis of the teacher activity observation sheet data is analyzed by calculating the average of every aspect observed in the learning process of all meetings. The average of each aspect observed in the learning process from all meetings can be seen in the following table:

Based on the table above, it was found that the average ability of the experimental and control class students' activities during the learning process received very good clarification. This means that the results of observations of student activity in the class indicate that students take learning by applying online mathematics games of statistical in the experimental class and the control class.

The improve in mathematical abilities using mathematical game applications is higher than the mathematical abilities of students who do not use game applications (Hakim & Sari, 2019). Research that has been done (Khatimah et al., 2019) explained that games can provide real experiences that help students understand to improve cognitive and student understanding. The application of games has a positive influence on the development of student respond, The improve in mathematical abilities able provide the have fun mathematics learning. (Ni Putu et al., 2014) gives the impression that the game is a manifestation of customization, one of the basic mental processes leading to intellectual growth and game is adjustment mechanism which is important for students' intellectual development in learning. So that online math games can help create interesting activities in learning learning to be fun and effective.

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION Conclusion

The results of data analysis obtained a significance value smaller than the value α = 0,05, and value tcount greater than ttable, Because the significance value is smaller than α or tcount > ttable, then H0
