This study aims to improve students’ reading comprehension of class VIII by using videos at SMPK Santo Mikael Surabaya. The research subjects were students of SMPK Santo Mikael Surabaya for the 2022/2023 academic year. There are 26 students in class VIII (19 boys and 7 girls). This research was conducted with classroom action research with 2 cycles. Each cycle has four stages, namely:
Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. The instruments used were tests and observation checklists. This research was conducted in collaboration with an English teacher at SMPK Santo Mikael Surabaya who was Sr.Maria Katarina, PRR., S.Pd. From the results of the pre-cycle, there were 15 students who achieved KKM 75 (55%) and for cycle 1 there were 19 students (74%) and for cycle 2 there were 21 students (81%) who passed the KKM and were included in the criteria of success. This classroom action research was to be successful in improving students' reading comprehension to use implementation video media at VIII class of SMPK Santo Mikael Surabaya.
