IU-Notify is generally used to send public safety advisories to members of the university community. IU-Notify is generally used to send crime alerts to members of the university community.

Contact information will be recorded confidentially for all students, will be available only to authorized campus officials, and will not be disclosed except to law enforcement personnel in furtherance of a missing person investigation. Information about the missing person will be entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) within two hours of receipt by the police.

Policy Statement

Retaliation against anyone who makes a report of sexual misconduct is prohibited by university policy as well as Title IX and other state and federal laws. How to report an incident of sexual misconduct to the university and local law enforcement;. Deputy Title IX Coordinators for each campus will be responsible for tracking and reporting all reports of sexual misconduct on the respective campus to the University's Title IX Coordinator.

Reason For Policy

The Indiana University Title IX Coordinator will be notified of all reports of sexual misconduct and will oversee the university's review, investigation, and resolution of such reports to ensure the university's compliance with Title IX and related laws and the effective implementation of this policy. The Deputy Title IX Coordinators will work with the University's Title IX Coordinator to ensure that designated campus officials are involved in the investigation and adjudication of complaints under this Sexual Misconduct Policy and other applicable university policies and procedures. . Deputy Title IX Coordinators and senior student affairs professionals at each campus will work with the University's Title IX Coordinator to ensure that appropriate education, training, sanctions, and resources are available and provided at their respective campus. Student affairs professionals are expected to help educate the campus community and direct those who report an incident of sexual misconduct to the appropriate campus resources.

Procedure

If the University and/or the alternate Title IX Coordinator(s) receive a report indicating a need to notify and involve law enforcement due to the potential threat to the health and safety of an individual or the University community, they may also make the necessary share identifying information. for an appropriate response by IUPD (see Employee Confidential and Privacy sections). The defendant may explain the failure to appear to the university in writing within two working days of the scheduled hearing. The respondent or complainant may appeal the decision of the sexual misconduct hearing committee to the Student Affairs Officer on the relevant campus (or designee).

Definitions
