Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi konsumsi rokok pada rumah tangga miskin serta peluang seorang perokok menjadi miskin akibat mengonsumsi rokok di Kecamatan Medan Marelan. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer yang diperoleh dari hasil observasi secara langsung.
Total sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 100 responden masyarakat yang merokok. Adapun Metode penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif.
Sumber data yang digunakan adalah data primer yang diperoleh dari kuisioner yang disebar pada responden yaitu Masyarakat miskin di Kecamatan Medan Marelan. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teknik stratified rendom sampling.
Data kuisioner dianalisis menggunakan hail data SPSS 20. dengan melakukan beberapa tahap uji analisis data, uji validitas, uji reliabilitas,uji normalitas, uji regresi linier berganda, uji hipotesis (uji t dan F) dan koefisien determinasi (R2). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa , nilai uji t hitung sebesar 14,677 lebih besar dari t tabel yaitu 0,197 serta nilai yang signifikan sebesar 0,00 lebih kecil dari 0,05 yang dimana artinya Harga rokok (X1) berpengaruh dan terdapat hubungan signifikan terhadap Konsumsi rokok keluarga miskin (Y). dan menyatakan bahwa Nilai f hitung sebesar 150,77 lebih besar dari t tabel yaitu 3,94 dan nilai signifikasikan yaitu 0,00 lebih kecil dari 0,05 yang dimana artinya , X1 (Harga Rokok) X2 (Pendapatan Keluarga Miskin) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Y (Konsumsi Rokok Keluarga Miskin). Tak hanya itu penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa hasil koefisien determinasi R2 sebesar 0,757 dengan besaran persentase sebesar 75,7% selebihnya 24,3%.

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence cigarette consumption in poor households and the chances of a smoker becoming poor as a result of consuming cigarettes in Medan Marelan District. The data used in this study are primary data obtained from direct observation. The total sample in this study was 100 people who smoke. The method of this research uses a type of quantitative research. The data source used is primary data obtained from questionnaires distributed to respondents, namely the poor in Medan Marelan District.
The sampling technique used in this study is the stratified random sampling technique.
Questionnaire data were analyzed using SPSS 20 data. By conducting several stages of data analysis tests, validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, multiple linear regression tests, hypothesis testing (t and F tests) and the coefficient of determination (R2). Based on the results of this study, it states that the t test value of 14.677 is greater than t table, which is 0.197 and a significant value of 0.00 is less than 0.05, which means that the price of cigarettes (X1) has an effect and there is a significant relationship to cigarette consumption poor family (Y). and states that the calculated f value of 150.77 is greater than t table which is 3.94 and the significant value is 0.00 which is less than 0.05 which means, X1 (Cigarette Prices) X2 (Poor Family Income) has a significant effect on Y (Poor Families Cigarette Consumption). Not only that, this study states that the coefficient of determination R2 is 0.757 with a percentage of 75.7% and the remaining 24.3%.
