LSTU-L 350 Issues in Collective Bargaining (3 cr.) This course includes readings and discussions of selected problems. LSTU-L 201 Labor Law (3 cr.) This course deals with an overview of the legislation governing labor and business relations. LSTU-L 205 Contemporary Labor Problems (3 cr.) This course examines some of the major problems facing society, workers, and the labor movement.

S.W. Courses

SWK-S 692 Health Care Practice I (3 credits) This course will focus on the role of the social worker in a health care setting. SWK-S 693 Health Care Practice II (3 credits) This course will examine the psychosocial impact of illness. SWK-S 724 Theory, practice and assessment of social work teaching (3 credits) This course prepares PhD students to effectively and competently teach social work.

Undergraduate Programs Labor Studies Degree Program

Bachelor of Science in Labor Studies Bachelor of Science in Labor Studies program. Graduated Labor Associate in Labor Sciences Certificate in Labor Sciences. Students applying for credit course assistance must be majoring in a work study program.

Undergraduate Programs Social Work Degree Program

The School of Social Work offers two certificates: a certificate in case management at the undergraduate level and a certificate in family life education at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to the School of Social Work requirements and electives, the following are general liberal arts. Repeated courses The Faculty of Social Work has approved a course in which lower than acceptable grades must be repeated or replaced with a corresponding social work course. Required social work courses may only be repeated after the student has been reinstated in the program with permission from the school.

Incomplete Instructors in the Indiana University School of Social Work closely follow University policy regarding the assignment of Incomplete [I] grades. Pass/Fail Grades Students may take a maximum of four non-social work electives as Pass/Fail. All required social work courses receive a letter grade, except for S482 Practicum II, which is graded as Pass/Fail.

Credit for Life Experience Academic credit for life experience and prior work experience is not recognized in whole or in part toward a social work degree.

Master of Social Work students interested in transferring to Indiana University must apply for admission to the program. Students With permission of the school, Indiana University students enrolled in other graduate programs or individuals who hold the M.S.W. To meet these needs, the curriculum of the College of Social Work is subject to ongoing review by the faculty, with input from students, members of the practice community, and others. Students must complete 60 credit hours of graduate work to meet the minimum requirements for the Master of Social Work. Graduated within five years of a baccalaureate program in social work accredited (or admitted to candidacy for accreditation) by the Council on Social Work. A cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 for all social work courses taken prior to admissions committee action. Evidence of characteristics and/or capabilities necessary for competent social work practice as defined in the school's mission statement.

Students with a strong academic record who have earned a Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.) degree within the past five years from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education may apply for the Accelerated Advanced Standing Program on the IUPUI campus. The Title IV-E program is offered to students involved in the Indiana Partnership for Social Work Education in Child Welfare, funded in part by Title IV-E, and enables students to complete the Foundation and Secondary Curriculum (first 30 hours of program credit) during two calendar years. The program, with the approval of the program director, will select three faculty members to serve as academic advisors during doctoral studies, one of whom will represent the student's area of ​​specialization outside the School of Social Work.

After nomination for candidacy, the student, with the approval of the program director, selects a search committee of no fewer than four faculty members, including one member outside the School of Social Work.

Academic Policies and Procedures Students' Rights

Such petitions must be submitted in a professional manner, in accordance with the norms, values ​​and ethics of social work. Academic Policies and Procedures Academic and Scholarly Guidelines

A student must not use another person as a substitute in taking an exam or quiz. The student must not allow others to conduct research or prepare any work for him without prior authorization from the instructor to whom the work is submitted. A student must not collaborate with other persons on a particular project and submit a copy of a written report that is explicitly or implicitly represented as the student's individual work.

A student may not use any unauthorized assistance in a laboratory, at a computer terminal or on fieldwork. A student may not submit substantial portions of the same academic work for credit or honors more than once without permission of the instructor to whom the work is submitted. A student may not adopt or reproduce ideas, words or statements of another person without appropriate acknowledgment.

Obstructing another student's work includes, but is not limited to, stealing, defacing, or mutilating resources to deprive others of the information they contain. A student may not violate course rules as contained in a course syllabus or other information provided by the student. A student may not knowingly or knowingly aid or attempt to aid another student in committing an academic misconduct.

The submission of any part of the student's own previously submitted work, unless one's own previous work is fully acknowledged and appropriately cited.
