Abstract
In Indonesia, transportation, especially by road, consumes more energy than any other sector. The increasing number of vehicles on the roads also means energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are likely to increase. Vehicle emissions have been recognized as a significant contributor to atmospheric GHG pollution. Heavy-duty vehicles are considered to be the primary sources of vehicular emissions in most cities. It is therefore crucial to form projections of possible future emissions from heavy-duty vehicles in order to support policymakers in identifying which vehicles are most responsible for GHG emissions and in developing pollution control strategies. This study aims to forecast heavy-duty vehicle population, vehicle kilometers traveled (VKT), fuel consumption, and heavy-duty vehicle emissions using data from Semarang City, in order to demonstrate the GHG emissions of large cities in Indonesia. The ‘Business as Usual’ (BAU) method and methods used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) are incorporated to form a reliable projection of future vehicle emissions. It is found that heavy-duty vehicle emissions overall are likely to increase by 12,317 to 22,865 Gg CO2/year between 2021 and 2030; in 2030, emissions from trucks and buses are likely to be around 21,981.5 Gg CO2/year and 884.2 Gg CO2/year, respectively.
Keywords: BAU, IPCC, vehicle emissions, VKT
1. Introduction
The high levels of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions being released into the atmosphere have become a significant concern in many countries (Pauzi and Abdullah, 2014). The transportation sector is one of the most significant sources of GHG emissions. In 2019, transportation consumed more energy than any other economic sector in Indonesia. The amount of energy required for transportation in Indonesia is about 40% of the total national energy requirement; this is equivalent to 414.98 million barrels of oil (Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Republic of Indonesia, 2019). Approximately 73%
of total GHG emissions from the global transportation sector come from road transportation (Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, 2008). This number is likely to continue to increase, in line with the increasing number of vehicles on the road.

Abstract
Soil and water pollution are the most crucial issues in the world. Various reports have informed that pollution has had long-term adverse effects on environmental sustainability and human health. Several methods have been reported to be effective in reducing pollutant parameters in water and soil. The methods often used in water and soil remediation are bioremediation (land-vetting, bio-cell. Bio cell, Phytoremediation, Land venting, Composite, Bio venting, Bio slurry), Adsorption, Pretreatment (Ultrasonic), Microwave, Electrokinetic disintegration, High-Pressure Homogenization/HPH, Thermal Hydrolysis, Acid hydrolysis (HCl, H2SO4, H3PO4, and HNO3), Ozonation, Fenton Oxidation, Fe (II) - activated persulfate, Protease, amylase, lipase. This paper will explain water and soil pollution and the methods used to overcome them. Information collection is carried out using secondary data;
internationally reputable journals and accredited national journals are used to obtain information about the effectiveness and costs incurred. This paper will provide a holistic comparison of prices, effectiveness, and information on various remediating water and soil pollution methods around the world. Based on the NPV and IRR analysis, the water treatment method using the adsorption method is an economically feasible method with an IRR value of 51%.

1. Introduction
Environmental pollution has been reported in various countries around the world (Landrigan and Fuller, 2015). The decline in water and soil quality is a crucial issue and is the most widely discussed in various scientific articles. World Water Congress reports that water pollution has occurred in various cities worldwide, including Aqaba, Bangkok, Beijing, Chennai, Durban, Kampala, Lima, and Manila.
This international congress reports that the decrease in water quantity and quality is caused by human activities, including agriculture, mining, industrial manufacturing, infrastructure development, and other human activities (International Water Association, 2018). Other studies have also reported that a decrease in water quality has occurred in Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines (Anh et al., 2007; Ferrer et al., 2012; Watanabe et al., 2016). The decline in water quality in various countries includes a decrease or increase in pH so that water is acidic or alkaline, high metal ion content, high BOD, COD and TSS concentrations, and dye content and other parameters. Apart from water, the soil has also been reported as a part of the environment that has experienced a decline in quality. Soil pollution also occurs due to human activities; a recent study reports that China's agricultural activities have caused soil contamination. This

Abstract
Food waste is a significant constituent in municipal solid wastes, and its disposal is an environmental concern. Previous research suggested that food waste can be turned into a homemade biogas activator to treat the waste itself. Chicken manure is rich in nitrogen that may enhance biogas production.
Therefore, the current research adds chicken manure as a co-activator in the batch process. It aims to activate bacteria for degrading the food waste in the semi-continuous process to produce biogas. Food waste to chicken manure was set at 2 : 1 (digester #1), 3 : 1 (digester #2), and 4 : 1 (digester #3), while digester control was feed with food waste only. Digester #2 gives the highest biogas with a cumulative biogas volume of 120.77 liters, 71.01% CH4, 26% CO2, 2.9% O2, and 0.088% H2S. The potential of methane volume per TS and VS is at around 18.72 L/kg and 34.68 L/kg, respectively, which are around 2 times higher than digester without chicken manure.
Keywords: Biogas, digester, food waste, homemade activator, chicken manure
1. Introduction
The rapid economic growth of big cities and medium cities often creates new problems in managing cities related to infrastructure provision. One of the new problems is the increasing volume of waste, which impacts the need for sustainable management. In particular, the problem of cities in Indonesia is about solid waste and its management. This condition is per the development results always accompanied by a growth in the volume of solid waste. Solid waste will continue to be produced as long as humans are still alive and carry out activities related to daily life in the areas they live.
In general, various cities in Indonesia still use the old collect-transport-waste paradigm viewed from the solid waste management system applied. Applying this old paradigm negatively impacts waste because waste is not managed, and there is no effort to reduce waste generation. As a result, the final waste processing site (landfill) becomes full quickly even though the current condition, finding a new location for landfill is challenging and generally always rejected by the community.
The other problems that arise are relating to leachate pollution and the potential for gas generation in landfills which continues to increase because the amount of waste also continues increasing. Handling of waste management requires a good arrangement/ management as an effort to overcome existing problems. These problems include the limited funds owned by the government to
