The International Board of Trustees consists of the President, the Immediate Past President, two Vice-Presidents, the Treasurer and twelve Trustees. The Secretary is appointed by the Board of Administration, participates in the meetings of the Board and acts as secretary of the Board. June or July, consists of the Board of Trustees, Past Presidents of Kiwanis International, and in addition to them, at the first meeting, Dis-.

This is very valuable for their promotion of the international goals in their respective districts. Voluntary SerYice is one of the cardinal principles of Kiwanis and an important factor in its success. This is responsible for building new clubs and for providing field service to the clubs.

The purpose of the Kiwanis district is primarily educational and promotional, not legislative but cooperative. 34; To promote the participation of district dubs in the general objectives, programs and policies of the district and of Kiwanis International." So is the District Treasurer, except when this office is combined with that of the District Secretary.

Their work is to assist the international committees by helping the local clubs in the district to carry out the international program of Kiwanis work. Each ACH district will hold a district convention sometime between August 1 and November 15 on a date agreed upon by the board of directors for the district and Kiwanis International. It is headed by the district governor and supervised by the district board.

Business, Child, Kiwanis Club members are expected to be primarily active members, pay their dues promptly, and attend club meetings regularly. An unauthorized absence from forty percent of the meetings during half the club year, or from four consecutive meetings, jeopardizes membership. They must be owners or partners, executives, corporate officers or managers with administrative duties and discretionary powers, or they must be engaged in worthy and recognized professions for which they have received the recognized standard training.

Each member must devote sixty percent of his time to the business or profession under which he is classified (within the territorial limits of his club). He must also accept the ideals of the organization and respond to his spirit of service. Before a person can become a member, he must be vetted by at least two active members in good standing; he must be approved by the Classification and Membership Committees of the club; and passed by a two-thirds vote of the entire Board of Directors.

The intention is that the membership of a Kiwanis club will be representative of the best that is to be found in the business and professional life of the community. The success of Kiwanis depends on the intelligent loyalty and faithful activity of the members of.

KIWANIS I BRIEF

It is the policy of Kiwanis to operate under a strict budget system in each organizational unit and, after a careful audit of the accounts, make them available for the information of every Kiwanis member. With this plan, the president of the sponsoring club appoints a committee of three to five members, which will function under his direction. He writes to International Headquarters informing them of the committee's personnel and requesting sponsorship instructions and supplies.

Before proceeding with the construction of a new Kiwanis club, a committee appointed by the club president thoroughly examines the future site. The first task of a patronage committee is to interest a group of outstanding men in a particular community. But after a careful survey, and with the approval of the District Governor and the International Board of Trustees, the minimum requirement may be reduced to any number below fifty, but not less than twenty-five members.

For the sake of healthy growth, the addition of new members is limited to two men per term during the first year of the club's existence. And to ensure financial security, it is encouraged that annual fees be no less than twenty dollars instead of the allowable minimum of ten dollars. The small extra expense to each member adds wonderfully to the ability of the dub to undertake many forms of effective service and makes assess·.

The interpretation of the above objects in certain practical projects is presented below. Upon the activity and faithfulness of the club committee rests the ultimate success of all Kiwanis work. The effective functioning of the club committee is the goal of this potentially productive correlation between the international organization, the district and the club.

Some of the Kiwanis publications have found a useful place beyond the boundaries of the organization. The Club Officers Handbook is an authoritative and comprehensive compilation of information and guidance regarding the work of local club officers3 and committees. The Manual for District Officers is an extremely important volume of information concerning the relations of the district with the international body and with the constituent clubs, and contains many detailed suggestions for the work of the district officer3.

J(jwanis Activities) is a book published annually which summarizes the activities reported by club secretaries in their monthly reports. Such an undertaking, for example, as the building among the residents of Kiwania Harding International Good Will with popular subscriptions Memorial, in Stanley Park, Vancouver, B.
