1 Abstract of Proposal and Keywords
þ Indicate (briefly) what is significant about the project and why it is required.
þ It should excite or intrigue the reader.
þ Indicate outcomes and innovation.
þ Mention the gap that your project will fill and why it needs filling.
þ Between 1 and 4 keywords can be used.
þ Try not to use keywords that are too general or can mean more than one thing.
þ Use single words where possible but combinations of words can be used to ensure clarity.
2 Background
þ This initial section should alert the assessors to the problem that your project will address.
þ Please provide a narrative that establishes the story of the problem and the research that you propose to address this problem. Problems may also be those of theory, methodology or concept.
þ Please demonstrate why the problem must be addressed and how your proposal will address it in a new and successful way. Do not describe what you will do in detail – that should be detailed in fully when describing the methodology and design.
þ As a part of background, please indicate what research has been done so far on the topic you will deal with (literature review) and the position, or the starting point, of your research.
3 Research Problem
þ Describe or identify the main of concern or issue a problem that needs a solution
þ Please formulate the problem research from the most important research problem
þ Each formulation of the problem research (at least), including a minimum of two variables are linked or distinguished, and these variables should be measureable and manageable
4 Aims/Objectives and Significance
þ Be realistic and clear in what you aim to investigate or address.
þ When detailing aims be ambitious but do not make exaggerating claims.
þ Show why this project is important – what problem does it solve and why must it be solved?
þ What is the research gap – why must it be filled?
þ What are the advantages we could gain if this problem is settled? And what are disadvantages we would have if this problem is left unsolved?
þ How does this problem relate to the broader discipline area? How does the research resonate within the broader discipline area?
5 Literature Review
þ Describe the results of previous studies, and it’s relation to the topic or research questions.
þ Explain the results of previous research and the limitations of the study
þ Identify the limitations of previous studies, and what you will accomplish with these limitations

6 Methodology and Design
þ This section must validate your aims or objectives by showing the process through which these objectives will be achieved. Provide details how the research project will proceed. This indicates that you have carefully thought out your plans of conducting fieldwork, methods of data collection and analysis.
þ Provide theoretical framework that will be applied for the proposed project, why and to what extent to such particular framework is relevant to explain and solve the problem raised in this project.
þ Include, where appropriate, details of the experimental design at least for an initial project or projects in the area of research, and statistical methods to be used. Include sample size estimations.
þ Incorporate activities in the design of the project and dissemination of results such as policy documents, stakeholder meetings and seminars, the inclusion of collaborating or partner organizations or expertise.
þ Provide timeline of the project and evidence that the proposed study can proceed in a timely fashion (i.e.
recruitment of participants is assured, instruments have been developed and piloted)
7 Communication of Results
þ Please indicate all the ways your research findings or activities will be disseminated.
þ Include the names of international journals and
international conferences you will target and, the case of monographs, any potential publishers.
þ If you are communicating your results via websites that offer new ways of engagement be sure this is included when you discuss innovation in the ‘Innovation’ section.
8 Budget
þ Please, write briefly the cost of research is needed, þ Please refer the cost of research to the table of value on
any kind of research
þ The component of the research implementation, including;
(1) pre-research, (2) implementation of research, and (3) post-research
9 References References should be provided within the application form (maximum 3 pages). Do not attach copies of any references.
