I would like to thank three men in the ministry who have influenced my life and my commitment to personal evangelism. I would also like to express appreciation to the administration of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary for their support, especially Dr.
INTRODUCTION
Test
Obedience to the biblical call to evangelism and missionary involvement is necessary for spiritual growth in the life of the Christ-follower and overall health of the local church. Before the project, a majority of the participants indicated that they did not share the gospel regularly, and many had never told anyone about Jesus. 4 for a detailed description of the individual preaching and discipleship curriculum content for the eight-week series.
Of the participants who completed both surveys, 26 said they had not talked to anyone about the gospel in the past year before teaching the curriculum. The primary strength of the project was the successful completion of the objectives, as mentioned earlier. The general mood in the church seemed to be that they were ready for a joint mission.
All of these conversations took place within the six months leading up to the teaching of this project's material.

COMMITMENT FORM
The project includes an eight-week sermon series and corresponding discipleship curriculum on the importance of evangelism and missionary life for the spiritual health of the believer and the church. This aspect of the project requires the feedback of a panel of three to five experts in the field of outreach and evangelism. As a member of the panel, I will ask you to use rubrics to evaluate the biblical faithfulness, clarity, relevance, and appropriateness of both the curriculum and sermon series.
The following table was compiled from information provided in a July 17, 2016, Church Trend Profile for New Canaan Baptist Church by the Research Services department of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board. The FullInSite Report is a demographic survey of the area within a five-mile radius of New Canaan Baptist Church. This study was prepared on July 17, 2015, by the Research Services department of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board.
Therefore, the New Canaan Baptist Church has maintained a 93 percent retention rate of new members since adopting the new membership class.
WEEK 1 MATERIALS
- I go and tell wherever I am
- I bring new converts into the community of faith, the church
- I teach new believers to obey what Jesus commanded
- I obey in Jesus’ power, not my own
- Read Genesis 1:27
- Read Romans 3:23 and Romans 6:23
- Read these passages and answer the questions that follow
- Read Hebrews 9:22, John 3:16 and Romans 5:8
- Read Romans 10:9
- Read John 3:18, John 14:6 and Acts 4:12
The second part of the Great Commission is "baptizing them." Those who have believed will be baptized. And Jesus is clear that baptism must be done in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teaching believers what Jesus commanded establishes the ethics and theology of the faith community.
I submit that it is in this lack of obedience that we find the greatest problems in the church today. And Peter said to them: "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. He who believes in him is not condemned, but he who does not believe. is already condemned because he has not believed in the name of God's only begotten Son.
The exclusivity of the gospel may seem obvious, but it is not necessarily a popular teaching.
WEEK 2 MATERIALS
- The power of creation was manifested through the Holy Spirit
- The power of faith and regeneration is from the Holy Spirit
- The power to say the right message comes from the Holy Spirit
- The power to obey Jesus comes from the Holy Spirit
- The power to see the miraculous is of the Holy Spirit
- The power to encourage others is from the Holy Spirit
- He fulfills the promise of God to dwell among humanity
- He is the comforting presence of God in the believer’s life
- He sanctifies us (grows us to spiritual maturity)
- He is the power to witness about Jesus in our lives
I will trust the power of the Holy Spirit to work in me to make me a witness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Opening Question: If someone were to ask you, “Who is the Holy Spirit?” what would you say? Others understand the Holy Spirit as the impersonal power that God makes available to Christ's followers.
The Bible also tells us that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, a being with a mind, emotions and a will. Go then, make disciples of all the nations, and baptize them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. But you are washed, you are sanctified, you are justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Through the action of the Holy Spirit, Christ becomes the life, unity and consciousness of the body, which is the church.
WEEK 3 MATERIALS
- I will not let fear rule my life
- I will be prepared to answer questions about my faith
- I will show respect to others in the answers I give
- I will live so that my reputation glorifies Christ
- Why is there evil and suffering?
- How can I know if God is real?
- What about all the contradictions in the Bible?
- What about the people who’ve never heard about Jesus?
- You believe in Creation. But what about Evolutionary science?
- Isn’t Christianity just a psychological crutch?
- How can you just blindly believe something? I can’t see God so how do I know He exists?
And there is certainly an aspect of this that is true in the Christian life. To be truly prepared in the Christian life to give reason for the hope we have, we must have hope. This means that we should know that we tried to share the gospel, that we respected them and were gentle in the way we shared with them.
While the wise man in the story had plenty of questions, one thing is clear: college students weren't looking for an answer. One of my favorite chapters in The God Questions is where we compare the top ten religious systems. That God did not create evil, does not like or approve of evil, and works as lovingly and diligently as possible to restore us to the paradise He created in the beginning is a good answer.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth is more than religious poetry.
WEEK 4 MATERIALS
- I am united on mission with God
- I represent the name of Jesus in everything
- I am empowered to witness about Jesus to everyone
- He came in humility
The concept of commandment is further confirmed by the giving of the Holy Spirit in verse 22. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the.
When Jesus left there, the Pharisees and the lawyers began to oppose him fiercely and besiege him with questions, waiting to catch him doing something he might. One of the lawyers answered him: "Master, if you say these things, you also insult us.". When Jesus left there, the Pharisees and lawyers began to oppose him fiercely and besiege him with questions, waiting to catch him saying something he might say.
34;The law and the prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is strongly encouraged to enter it.
WEEK 5 MATERIALS
- Fear of failure
- Fear of rejection
- Fear of offending someone
- Fear makes me doubt God’s control
- Fear makes me doubt God’s love for me and others
- Fear says God is not powerful enough to work through me
- Fear says that the temporary is more important than the eternal
- Acknowledge and face fear
- Pray to God for help, courage, and peace
- Look beyond my circumstances to God’s promises
Therefore, rejection or acceptance, success or failure is not determined based on human ability, but rather the work of God's Holy Spirit in the life of the hearer of the gospel. Rejection of the gospel when it happens is not rejection of the person, but rejection of the message of salvation. Yet his example was a bold proclamation of the Kingdom in the face of this fear.
Jesus said that he was sent to do the Father's will (John 4:34), and he told his disciples that he was sending them out in the same way he was sent (John 20:21). Therefore, we will not be afraid, even if the earth gives way, even if the mountains move into the heart of the sea. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your staff and your staff comfort me.
In groups of 4 or less, have each person choose one of the following conversation starter questions and practice starting conversations focused on gospel issues.
WEEK 6 MATERIALS
- God gives us gifts to equip us to grow and minister
- Every Christian is created to minister and must be equipped to do so
- Every Christian has a story to tell (share the gospel)
- Every Christian should work with others to reach the lost and build up the body of Christ
- Keep your story under 3 minutes
- Begin with life before Christ
- Share about coming to Christ
- Talk about how your life has changed
- Our sin problem
Churches become healthy when their members are equipped to serve and obey Christ's teaching of making disciples. As Hoehner rightly asserts, "'the whole' is mentioned because we are all being prepared for the work of the ministry with the goal of building up the body of Christ of which we are all a part."3 He also writes that Paul ' " the point is that the gifted persons listed in verse 11 serve as the foundational gifts used for the immediate purpose of preparing all the saints to serve. Healthy churches teach their people to share the gospel of Christ and serve in his name.
All members of the body of Christ are to do the work of the ministry. When everyone works together, the Church progresses toward its goal of full maturity in Christ (verse 13). This is described as being fully united, having full knowledge of Christ, and reaching the full measure of Christ's stature.5.
Every Christian should work with others to reach the lost and build up the body of Christ.
I will be equipped, grow in Christ, and be a witness to share the gospel with the lost. So please don't fall back on that unbiblical excuse: I don't have the gift of evangelism.
None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
- God’s answer to our sin problem
- Faith in Jesus
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
- Salvation is assured in Jesus
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else
WEEK 7 MATERIALS
- I am devoted to growth in my walk with Jesus
- I am generous with my time, money, and ministry
- I am united with other believers in doctrine, worship, fellowship, and ministry
- My actions match my witness about Jesus wherever I am
- The church has a good reputation with the community
- The Lord brings new people to faith through our witness
- Hypocrisy – Our words do not match our actions
- Caring more about current events more than eternity
- Lack of Compassion
- Treating other Christians with hate or disdain
- Acting/talking like the world
There was immediate, regular follow-up care of the first converts in the early church. The non-believing world saw that the words and actions of the believers were in line. Not only was there favor in the eyes of the world, but people daily came to faith in Jesus Christ as a result of the testimony of the early Christians.
Munck notes that the members of the early church, because of their lifestyle, "were well-liked by. 8Ernst Haenchen, The Acts of the Apostles: A Commentary, translated by Bernard Noble and Gerald Shinn (Philadelphia: The Westminster Press. The testimony of the early church reveals , that through devoted worship of God and sincere love for one another, Christians can reveal God's salvation in Christ to non-believers.
Paul's point is simple: without the proclamation of the gospel, people will not come to faith in Christ.
WEEK 8 MATERIALS
- We should pray for God’s grace on our lives so that we can take the gospel to the nations
- All people begins in our community
- Pray for the lost to be saved
- Go to your unchurched neighbors, friends, and co-workers
- Build relationships with people of different cultures
- Be ready to go to share with other cultures through missions
- Give generously to help others go to the harvest among the nations
- We meet them and get to know them
- We listen to them and learn about their culture
- We see them as human beings and not just members of a culture
- We invite them into our homes and build relationships
- We tell them the good news about Jesus
We should pray for God's grace in our lives so that we can bring the gospel to the nations. The main goal of man is to glorify God by enjoying him forever." verse 7, "Let all the ends of the earth fear him!"). The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;. everyone who follows his commandments has good sense.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." The Great Commission and the Ministry of the Word: Historical and Contemporary Reflections on Relationships and Priorities." Finlayson Memorial Lecture These deficiencies were remedied by a process involving (1) an evaluation of current practices and (2) the preaching, teaching, and application of New Testament instructions regarding.
This project is based on the call of the New Testament to every Christian to share the Gospel and to cooperate with his culture.
