It is my hope that this project will develop spiritual disciplines in the lives of the eighth grade boys at Immanuel Christian School so that they will grow into men who love and serve Jesus. A deliberate Christ-filled spiritual discipline program is needed to invest in the next generation of young men. The purpose of this project was to equip the eighth grade boys at Immanuel Christian School to understand and practice spiritual disciplines.
The first aim was to assess the understanding and practice of spiritual disciplines among eighth grade boys at Immanuel Christian School. The third goal was to increase the understanding and practice of spiritual disciplines among eighth-grade boys at Immanuel Christian School by teaching the eight-week curriculum. The second goal was to develop an eight-week spiritual disciplines curriculum for eighth-grade boys at Immanuel Christian School.

Delight in the Lord”

Lenski points out, "The 'elders' of the congregations were usually older men, often men of years."65 Timothy's young age may not command the respect of the older elders in case of disagreement.
Guthrie writes, “The qualities in which Timothy should excel are those in which youth is so often lacking. Mounce writes: "The word purity has sexual connotations, giving it the meaning 'chaste'."70 Timothy is to live a clean lifestyle; he must make decisions that leave no room for false accusations.
Instructions for Men”
Second, older men must be "healthy in love." The Greek word here for love is agape. It takes everything—one's whole heart, one's whole mind, and one's whole life, including one's time, energy, and possessions—for the cause of love.”3. Robert Mulholland Jr., states, "Scripture stands near the center of this whole process of being conformed to the image of Christ."4 Young men need to know the Bible so that they can begin to conform to what it teaches.
In Psalm 119:11, David says, "I have kept your word in my heart, that I may not sin against you." The first thing David says he does in this verse is keeping God's Word in his heart. Mark Dever points out, "The message is about Him."36 The message of evangelism is a focus on what Christ has done on the cross, showing how he has changed someone's life. Dever points out, “The call to evangelism is a call to turn our lives from self-centered and our needs to self-centered.
For example, Whitney notes how the practice of reading the Bible helps develop a lifestyle of worship: "The Bible reveals God to us so that we can focus on Him, and to the extent that we focus on Him, we will worship Him." 43. How does this apply to me?" Then the class shared how Acts 1:8 could be applied to their lives.
I asked, "How does this passage lead me to confess my sins?" The boys were encouraged to look at the passage and admit their weaknesses and failures. I put Psalm 95:6 on the SMART board and we all read together, “Oh come, let us worship and bow; let us kneel before the Lord, our Creator.” The lesson continued with the boys asking how they would define worship. As we neared the end of the lesson, I wrote Whitney's quote on the SMART board: “Worshiping God makes believers more godly because people become their focus.
We imitate what we think about.”6 The boys were encouraged to practice the various forms of worship we discussed in order to maintain their focus on God. There were two major weaknesses in this project - the class was tied to the timetable and calendar of the school bell.
