ABSTRACT

Development of the ParticipatoryErgonomics and Teaching Factory (PE-TEFA) Model in Metal Welding Training.

The Research of this training model development is based on the high demand for welding personnel in Indonesia and the length of time required for metal welding training to obtain a qualified level. This study aims to develop a Participatory Ergonomics and Teaching Factory (PE-TEFA) model in metal welding training. The PE-TEFA model is a model developed to produce a proficient, skilled and competent welding personnel based on industry requirements in order to meet the shortage of welding personnel in Indonesia.

This research was conducted using ADDIE model consisting of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The subject of this research involved two welding instructors and forty welding training participants at the Training school of PT. Profab Indonesia (NOV) divided into experimental and control classes. The instruments used were standard and valid tests and non-tests, which were then processed using the Principle Component Analysis (PCA) test, Aiken's V test and SPSS software. Data analysis was carried out using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis to determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the developed PE-TEFA model.

This study resulted a PE-TEFA model in metal welding training with a five-step training syntax, namely preparation, analysis, solution selection, implementation and evaluation. The model's syntax test was declared feasible with the Kaiser Meyer Olkin Measure of Sampling Adequacy showing a score; 0.718> 0.600 and valid with Aiken's V value > 0.667, the feasibility of the model has a practicality of response to instructors which is 84% and training participants as much as 86%, while the model was declared effective in improving results of training assessment with an average score of the experiment class in the cognitive domain of 83.00, affective domain with 83.45 and 83.05 for psychomotor domain and the PE-TEFA model was proven to shorten the welding training time which is 50 hours from the targeted time determined by the Training school PT. Profab Indonesia (NOV), thus the PE-TEFA model has contributed to produce proficient welding power to meet industrial needs.

ABSTRAK

Pengembangan Model Participatory Ergonomics and Teaching Factory (PE-TEFA) pada Pelatihan Pengelasan Logam Padang.

Penelitianpengembangan model pelatihan iniberdasarkan pada tingginya permintaan tenaga pengelasan di Indonesia dan lamanya waktu yang dibutuhkan dalam pelatihan pengelasan logam untuk mencapai level mahir. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangan model Participatory Ergonomics and Teaching Factory (PE-TEFA) pada pelatihan pengelasan logam. Model PE-TEFA ini merupakan model yang dikembangkan untuk menghasilkan tenaga pengelasan yang mahir, terampil dan memiliki kompetensi sesuai kebutuhan industri sehingga dapat memenuhi tuntutan akan kekurangan tenaga pengelasan di indonesia. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan model ADDIE yang terdiridari 5 tahapyaituAnalisis, Desain, Pengembangan, ImplementasidanEvaluasi. Subjek penelitian ini melibatkan 2 instruktur pengelasan dan 40 peserta pelatihan pengelasan di Training school PT. Profab Indonesia (NOV) yang dibagi kedalam kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes dan non-tes yang standar serta valid, kemudian di olah menggunakan uji Principle Component Analysis (PCA), uji Aiken’s V dan software SPSS.

Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif untuk mengetahui kevalidan, kepraktisan dan keefektifan model PE-TEFA yang dikembangkan.

Penelitian ini menghasilkan model PE-TEFA pada pelatihan pengelasan logam dengan sintak pelatihan 5 langkah yaitu persiapan, analisis, pemilihan solusi, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Uji sintak model dinyatakan layak dengan nilai Kaiser Meyer Olkin Measure of Sampling Adequacy menunjukan skor 0,718 > 0,600 dan valid dengan nilai Aiken’s V > 0,667, kelayakan model memiliki tingkat kepraktisan responinstruktur84% dan peserta pelatihan 86%, sedangkan model dinyatakan efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil penilaian pelatihan dengan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen ranah kognitif 83,00, afektif 83,45 danpsikomotori83,05 serta model PE-TEFA terbukti mempersingkat waktu pelatihan pengelasan 50 jam dari target waktu yang ditentukan Training schoolPT. Profab Indonesia (NOV), dengan demikian model PE-TEFA telah berkonstribusi menghasilkan tenaga pengelasan yang mahir untuk memenuhi kebutuhan industri.
