The specific objectives of English teaching are based on the above sub-skills or general objectives. In English teaching, the teacher should teach students about English skills, because English consists of many skills that all English learners must master. Language is multisensory while this method makes it only part of human information. This method does not help in important aspects of language learning such as reading and writing.

It is based on a solid theory of language learning. a) The behaviorist approach to learning is now discredited. This method is known as the bilingual method because correct use of the mother tongue is allowed. There is drilling of the pattern to enable students to master the basic required sentence pattern which is effective practice of this method.

This method does not require audiovisual aids or other technology, so this method is very useful for any teacher. This method is a boon to all those institutions where limited facilities are available.38.. a) Extreme use of mother tongue makes students inactive to learn a foreign language. It requires a curriculum specifically developed for this method, otherwise it is difficult to teach the target language in the classroom. h) A bilingual method is used for rural and urban schools.39 g.

This method is not useful for average students because it aims at the active control over the language. e). The teaching methods used by followers of this method are similar to the question-answer techniques of the Direct Method, although a more systematic approach to the selection of vocabulary and grammar is applied.

The results of the research found that the students of SMK PGRI 2 Ponorogo are aware and understand that the lecture and question-answer method can make the learning process of the English lesson more organized and can focus on increasing speaking, reading, writing and listening ability for the student. The teachers perception that lecture and question-answer method is used in the teaching of English lesson to determine the degree of performance of students' skill. The conclusions from that thesis are: There are three activities in the implementation of Direct Method in reading instruction: Planning, Presentation, Evaluation.

The duty of a teacher is not only to teach about the lesson, but also to educate the students about social skills with the others. Teachers find that using this method; the students will be more familiar with the English language. This method helps the tongue so that the students are trained to pronounce a foreign language.60.

In this method, the teacher must always use the English language without any mixture of native languages, most likely the students will feel tired and cranky because the words and phrases spoken by the teacher will be difficult to understand. Using this method, students are asked to read the text and find the vocabulary that is not yet understood.

If they can't find it in a dictionary or can't understand the vocabulary, they ask the teacher. Due to the condition of students who are deficient in terms of vocabulary, this method can speed up the learning process. In order to balance the students' skills in English language, teachers started to use the direct method, because using this method can help students to accelerate / familiarize themselves with the English language environment.

This method requires the teacher to be fluent in English, as this method relies on the teachers' ability to present the material. Usually, if the teacher teaches students with the theme of environmental materials class, the teachers teach by using physical response in general. Using this method, only reveals the phrase teacher and students to respond to something physical, and the goal is to make students remember vocabulary, such as name, Total physical response or respond physically.

Disadvantages of this method are that student achievement in lessons is expected to be achieved, so it makes them tend to be more passive in classroom learning. It is very important the role of the teacher to monitor the students' activities in each learning process. The methods used in teaching English to seventh grade students of SMPN 2 Balong in the academic year 2015/2016 are Grammar Translation Method, Direct Method, Audio-Lingual Method and Total Physical Response Method. The most dominant method used in the academic year 2015/2016 in teaching English to grade seven students of SMPN 2 Balong is the direct method. The teacher begins oral presentation of the material by saying one word to describe the object or image.

Different models of interaction are made, starting with classical, then group discussion and finally individual, between teachers and students. When the teacher considers that the student has mastered the presented material both in pronunciation and comprehension. The teacher gives the text to read in the form of a funny story, a story of wisdom and readings that contain beautiful phrases.

Recommendations

Students must be active in class and not feel shy or afraid to ask the teacher if they do not understand what the teacher is saying. Students must be able to change their mind to accept new methods of teaching and learning.
